The Central Comets have let Matt Minto off the leash, with the exciting young prospect joining the Bulldogs kennel.
Minto leaves today (05/03/09) where he will continue to chase his NRL dream with the bulldogs, after signing a three year deal this week.
The talented young playmaker was invited south to trail for the club in Canberra last weekend. he played 60 minutes at five-eight for the Bulldogs under-20s team in their 34-32 loss to reigning Toyota Cup champions the Canberra Raiders, on saturday night, setting up two tries.
The former St Brendan's College star is set to start at five-eight for the Bulldogs under 20's in their opening round Toyota Cup clash against Manly.
SOURCE: Morning Bulletin Rockhampton QLD (this is just an extract of the full article.)

And yes he is the nephew of former Bronco/Cowboy Scott Minto.

Hopefully he goes well.

Hopefully he has none of Scott Minto in him.

Scott Minto was one dreadful, dreadful football player.

And extremely ugly.

Oh I hated Scott Minto. From the second I saw him play, I looked at him and I just hated him without knowing his name.

Dropballs and just shocking.

The wing/centre version of Holdsworth.

Haha. As much as people might hate Holdworth I don't think even the biggest critic could say he is worse than Minto was. :D

Anyway lets get back to discussing this kid and his prospects.

Ah ben. I love ya mate. Whatever thread I'm in, your a step behind.

Hope this kid does well but we are really stuffed with halves depth. A good thing to have in a way.

Kimmorley
Roberts
Barba
Holdsworth
Minto
Davis
Reynolds.

I know I probably shouldn't of named the NYC players but there's heeps of depth for players who perform incase of injury.

You mean a step ahead. Haha. :D

We still don't have an adequate backup for Noddy should he get injured and shouldn't have let go of Groom who may not have amounted to anything in the NRL or he may have but at least he was the best backup halfback option for FG at the club and if something did happen to Noddy we would be in huge, huge trouble and would have to endure Roberts/Holdsworth at halfback again which is extremely painful.

Again, Groom would have been a much better option.
