Daryl Millard has shown how he can stand his ground in defence with his work rate of cover defence and has a average tackling ability. Time and time again its defence that wins the big ones, and last night proved this as there was no sense of it. Daryl will be able 2 provide stability and will be a very important player to the bulldogs backline defence.

Defence is a key and with daryl coming next year i believe he will overtake emilio. Emilio has been great for the dogs and will have 2 fight it out with darly .....im not targeting emilio by saying this..but he will be the unlucky player that will most likely miss out in 2007. We need a defensive back that can cover and help our line.....we dont need more attack look at who we already have in UTAI, TONGA, PATTEN AND HAZ. Defence is a key and daryl is a defensive specialist.

Tonights game is a perfect example.....millard vs manly 2 weeks ago ...Dragons did not let a point in they keept them scorless. Then he was left out and they beat brisbane due 2 GAZ. But when it came 2 crunchtime the dragons once again chocked and they were opened up every time through the centres....gasnier didnt look 100% and his defence was terrible, if millard was there i bet it would have been a much closer contest ....millard was missed tonight and it just goes 2 show u how valuable he is 2 this team in defence.

Daryl 4 my mind would slot in perfectly into the backline and can also cover the back row.
Friday nights lost was due 2 the defence and how poorly we tackled. Time and time again we see this scrambiling defence from the dogs, but we need a permanent and specialist defensive centre who can cover the back.
Look at 2004 when the dogs went into the grand final...Ben Harris known for his defence held his ground and was unsung in his dirty work. Millard will provide the same impact ben harris did in defence and without a doubt has slowly been making a name for himself. For emilio....hopefully he can find a spot on the bench, he has been great this year, but at the end of the day with millard and tonga in the centres we will have a balance of both awesome attack and great defence.
Good luck 2 all the boys in 07 and it will be a fightout for the all squad memebers of the 2007 dogs.

I was actually thinking of what differences the Dragons game might have had if Millard had played.. Although still shattered about last night and i dont really think i can look ahead this quickly, he is a very VERY bright prospect for our side next year.

Tonga and Millard will be a great combo

Nathan Brown did say that whenever theres an injury in his backline he always call up Millard first, and considering the backline of the Dragons that is quite a compliment

at the end of the day we need 2 find a spot for Ben Roberts and Daryl Millard in the top 17 squad. They are both 2 valuable players/

Totally agree with top post. But dont forget that Tonga is pretty good one on one defensively and Emelio aint no slouch either. But its good to have him coming over as it will improve our back line.
