unfortunately you are wrong..... yes we can sue and be compensated for breach of contract but we CANNOT, I repeat CANNOT stop himfrom playing for another team or another code... under Australian Law it would be a restraint of trade to try and stop him earning a living... he is entitled to earn a living and this is a totally seperate issue to the compensation....

Just think if you signed a 4 year work contract as a specialist engineer for a major company for example... if after 1 year you didnt like the travel and needed to leave that company would NOT be able to stop you from looking for work in the same field... you are entitled to feed your family....

you may however have to compensate the company for the cost of finding a replacement..
