Mavoni Tuifua is a big, ball-playing 20-year-old in the Junior Paulo mould.

The youngster will go straight into the Bulldogs' full-time squad for next season and is a good chance to play plenty of first grade given the club's problems up front this year.

The Bulldogs recently signed Tuifua for two years and have high hopes for the burly front-rower.

We need to keep recruiting guys like this, kids that are just naturally big and strong. The move to the fulltime squad introduces fulltime training programs and hopefully discipline so they stick to their diets and make the improvements they need to make. Manly have a few of them right now and they're making a genuine impact.

Phil Gould will take care of his discipline like he did with Jennings and the rest at Penrith

youtube vid shows him as an off-the-fence metre-eater with some toe. Was carrying a few extra kegs, footwork and offloads...reminded me a little of Kas. But that was in Flegg, so we'll see how he steps up.

Yeah I agree. He will also be eased into it playing probably 20ish minutes per game. Even taking Jacko off at 30 mins, moving Thompson to 13 and putting Jacko back on at 55-60 means this guy would do a 10 min and then 15-20 min stint.

At Jersey Flegg, he would've been expected to play bigger minutes.
