Opinion Manu at fullback?

Tracey has fitted in well with the team. I don't see any reason to drop him.

We have a good crop of juniors coming through.

Nah this guy is a twat Rooster, he won’t play for any other team!! NOT unless his connection with Sitili comes to play and something crazy like that happens then 10% chance :tearsofjoy:

A few? Try the next one. Sure ain’t paying him a million to get concussed again
He would be a risk for sure. If we are spending a million plus on anyone, we want them to be durable

No way we're getting Manu. We'll know this November or hopefully shortly thereafter. Surely we're chasing Fa'alogo if his former manager is now working for us as reported, or we're still interested in Paps and possibly still that young Knights fullback. One of the Storm fullbacks will be leaving for 2027. Will be interesting to see if Paps can get through a whole season injury free. Maybe that's what he wanted to prove so extended for 1 year because he knew it will substantially increase his bargaining power / cost for his next contract. Are we or the Storm willing to pay him 1M+ a season though ?

Our next fullback should be the priority (Fa'alogo) with Tracy moving to wing. If we're happy with the young guy from Newcastle or we can afford Fa'alogo plus another decent forward then we should sign Hazelton from the Sharks. He would give us the size and impact off the bench we're still lacking.

I couldn't in my heart do it and it would be the same with any player, I deal with people with dementia in my day to day. The last thing I'd want is to sign a guy up with goodness knows how many concussions and he's a star player they never disclose all of them. I can't do it, and I don't want to. Watching Graham was bad enough for me, and I love Jimmy (top bloke actually met him at a restaurant a few months ago).

If we had the option to sign Ponga,Paps or Manu. I'm picking Manu every day of the week. Ponga and Pappy are too injury prone

Probably wouldn't sign any of them but I agree. Honestly rather go after someone like a Will Kennedy who could be a Patten type of FB. My view is, if you are signing a guy on north of 850k and all 3 of those are, you better be sure he's playing 85% of the game. It is why your Tedesco, Edwards types are so valuable, yeah they are outstanding players but in general are VERY durable (yeah i know both have had some injuries but that was early in their career before their pay packet)

Manu would be a beast in kick returns/ yardage and is better in contact.

Smaller FB’s like Ponga and Papi are better ball players but less durable…

Manu at FB would suit a power game strategy and he’s gonna cost you a lot less than the others…

Imagine our kick returns with Kiraz, Manu and Montoya/Wilson then Burtons boot on the end of it. We would be permanently camped on the oppositions side of half way.

It's all wishful thinking though. I don't see Joey playing in the NRL for anyone other than the Rooster

The only other team I see being able to sign him is the warriors

Me neither but he has expressed his desire to play FB and that won’t happen at the Rooters. Plus it’s FB money VS. centre money which unless you’re Critta there’s a big difference…

Worth a phone call to his manager anyway…

I think Tedesco surprised a few when he came close to taking out the Dally m medal, a few were predicting he'd be moved on and Manu would come back and play FB.

I'd be disappointed if we weren't at least inquiring. He gets paid in Rooster money, I think that's better than fullback money :tearsofjoy:

I might be crazy but I think it would be worthwhile putting a deal in front of this guy.

He’s potentially better than Papi at FB (given his injury history) and is definitely gonna be an upgrade on Tracey.

He may be loyal to the Roosters but we’ve got cap space and need a superstar FB.

Not bad Thinking but we would a bucket full of money
