Ok sounds like uTorrent is the winner! Thanks all for suggestions / input.

I have never used torrent applications for downloading so hopefully this won't be too tricky to work out!

Yeah, exactly, just that the examples used were the ones Mongoose mentioned originally.

install the program, and download the torrent file then double click on it. that file will associate with the bittorrent program and you can see it download. make sure you find a torrent that has a lot of 'seeders' (sharers). enjoy. its really easy you will be ok.

i use the pirate bay website the most for torrents*

Or you can simply buy cd's. Cd's are awesome.

They are. These days I only buy limited editions or artists that I have most/all of their previous stuff

I use frostwire on my macbook. Good for single song downloads, works (and looks) alot like limewire.
