OPEN LETTER TO ALL CANTERBURY BULLDOGS PLAYERS & ALL TEAM STAFF

In recent weeks we have seen some pretty appalling behaviour from one of our once loved heroes. He has dragged our clubs great name through the mud once again. He has tried to damage our coaches name with his abuse and lies as well.

We the fans would like to take this opportunity to thank all the players (new and old) for being Bulldogs and staying true to what our club is all about. We would also like to express our 110% commitment and support to all of you. Now is the time when everyone will see that the Bulldogs have, and always will have, the most loyal and passionate fans.

After all that has been said about our great coach Steve Folkes, we would also like to extend our undying support for what you believe in and for all that you have done for our great club in your service as a player and coach. We recognise that you have been the rock that held it all together through the “eventful” years of this new millennium. Without your support and the player’s drive, we never would have accomplished what we did in 04’, even if some “people” say otherwise. One can only hope that you are involved with the club at an administrative level in the future should you chose to hang up the whistle one day Steve!

The General inspired us into unity yesterday with his words. Now the players are unified as well. The Dogs bounced back faster than the Rooster's could down a latte’. The board, CEO, Coaching Staff, Players and Fans now have one voice, so lets fire up for 2008! We are exhilarated by the Club's demonstration of leadership months before the first whistle.

In conclusion, we hope you all have a massive, injury free year and really rip in when we come up against thee Roosters as well! Good luck for the year ahead to all of you, especially all the new recruits and youngsters coming into grade! To all the new recruits: It’s a privilege and an honour to wear the Blue and White! Wear it with pride and do us proud. Go the extra mile and learn from the legends amongst you. We look forward to cheering you on and you all making your names household names in the months to come.

See you in Round 1 at Telstra in 2008!

Anyways I'll be printing this out on A3, nice and big and giving to Folkes or who ever I can get my hands on on Saturday morning. Anyone wanting to be there with me.... I'll be wearing 95 jersey and will be with my 10 year old son (future Bulldog)! He is almost taller than me, so don't be fooled!
