News Leo Thompson breaks silence after spurning key detail around girlfriend to sign with Bulldogs

Gus spoke very highly of May and Fonua-Blake on the 6 Tackles podcast. Makes me wonder why we preferred Thompson? Maybe he didn't see us having a real chance with the others so didn't bother with a losing battle. I don't mind Thompson but May would've been good - this year.

Pretty sure we went after AFB but he chose Sharks

Now let’s hope he can bring his twin brother over to the doggs, I mean brothers playing for a club makes sense, family clubs and all.. I reckon it’s in the pipeline a Gus will definitely have that in the back of his mind as Weill Leo to get Tyrone in the blue a white.

If Tyrone looks like being at the same level, it'd be great to have them both. But that's a big if at this stage. No use having them both if Leo is the only one worth paying

I'd still start King and Hughes. DSF played plenty of minutes. But Hughes proved last year that he's capable of huge minutes. And if DSF can be the impact on either side of halftime, that'd be something we've been lacking. But at this stage I have Hughes, King and DSF as my first three props picked on what the trials showed (disregarding that king didn't play. He's just the incumbent).

Todd and Hayes are on par for me. Sky is the limit for both. But if Ciraldo wants experience early on I really don't think Amone was that far behind. So these three are in my next picked group.

But Tupouniua has to be in contention somewhere. Plus Curran, Kikau, Preston and I've probably missed a few names. But altogether it's positive signs for our pack. It's going to be interesting to see if having that extra competition from our depth will translate to us giving our halves a far better platform or if it's only minor improvements.
I like Hughes but saying he proved last year he’s capable of playing big minutes is nonsense. He barely played more than 40 mins and I doubt his average mins per game will change much this season

Afb wanted around $1.3 so gus trying to manufacture one cheaper

Im calling bullshit. Cronulla didn’t pay that much for him.
So tell me then if he was chasing around $1 mill why didn’t gus sign him then pretty simple really????

No one really knows how much a player signs for, it’s all speculation until team caps are made public.

However It’s easy to believe that a player might take less to move to a club with a higher chance at a ring excluding the roosters.
