Surely we must start playing by their rules? It's not as if we don't have the finacial clout now with the Laundys onboard. Time to start rorting with the best of them.
Don't forget the Dogs got caught cheating the cap & threatened with expulsion if caught again, so have been squeaky clean since.

Who gives a fuck, at the end of the day if he wants to be here he will come.

If he wants to be a mercenary like Cheese he will go to the Rorters

'let the roosters have him" ? The question that needs to be asked is that Lenui is asking for up to 700ka year but if he signs with the roosters it will be between 500 and 600k. They can always pay players at least 100k under their market value because the NRL does not place a market value on players to stop the roosters and other teams like the storm continously doing this. The salary cap is a joke and until this problem is fixed, the best talent will always go to the elite teams.
100% this

Anyone naive enough to think there is a salary cap at all is dreaming.

Clubs signing players on unders when they are offered big money elsewhere. Is what needs to be changed. If the salary cap wants any credibility.

Anyone that responds to this question with. Players are looking to win comps and are looking at more than money might as well go work for the NRL. You are dreaming.

The simple fix is all “official salary cap offers” for any player needs to be submitted to the NRL.

Then any club that actually signs the player has the highest official offer allocated on their cap for that player.

The TPA free for all is the biggest open rort in sport.

My recollection from last season was Sam Hughes only played short stints. Imposing but very green.
The other interesting young talent is Zac Montgomery.
Gus should be able to launch a new front rower or two next year or 2025.

Here is a recent clip from the program which is overseen by Peter Kelly and Mitch Newton.
Wtf!!

If we had a fast hard as nails winning team that could use a tough nugget like him off the bench, I’d be saying go get him.

But right now that type of money would be better spent on a big hard front row metre eater, or go towards a seasoned #7 ..

Let him go else where, spend the money where it’s needed, and bring through our own bench nugget ..

Been saying similar for a long while. If the highest offer minus say 1-2% was needed to even approach the player, it'd quickly start balancing the talent. Players taking unders is just bullshit. Only exception should be if w player spends a lot of time in the lower grades. Say a club develops a player from 16, they debut at 20, the club that develops them should have about 2% cap free for every year they spent in the system before debuting.

Over 20 years ago now. Long past time to start pushing the envelope again. The NRL wouldn't have the balls to kick us out with Gould and the Laundys onboard.

TPAs need to go...when will the NRL get their heads out of the sand and make the necessary changes to make the salary cap credible? These issues keep surfacing year after year but nothing happens...what a joke the NRL is becoming. And ket me tell you the players union have akot yo answer for as well

Are you seriously suggesting that JAC can't sell his Let's Trot gear? Because that's a TPA.
Or Burton signing football boots sponsor? Because that's a TPA.
Or Mahony with a headgear sponsor? Because that's a TPA.

Any player that goes to the Rorters is clearly a fukwit and a bullet dodged IMO.
Also they will be on borrowed time because if they dont perform they will be moved on at the drop of a hat.

I'm glad we didn't get him. He wanted big dollars and he is only a bench player.

He comes on when Leota and Fisher Harris have done all the heavy lifting.

He is a major risk at the money he was asking
