There was no one outside the bubble at the house party apart from old mates wife who was technically part of the bubble anyway - very different to going out clubbing.

I think st George were a bit harsh on Paul and probably viewed it as a great opportunity to free up 800k in cap space, more so than disappointment in Vaughan

I mean OP is actually right to some degree. Also they would have been exposed to Covid. Vaughn’s wife was there who isn’t in the bubble. They also arrived by Uber or Taxi which they mentioned on NRL 360 breached the bubble Regs.
Plus their actions of running and hiding when the police arrived, was proof they knew they had breached and weren't men enough to face the consequences - very embarrassing for the NRL and their club. They were dumb enough to forget that although they scarpered, the cars they left parked out the front had personalised number plates.
