Galvin potentially coming off contract

is he worth throwing big money at given he has proven he is a gun in the making at NRL level

or would you take the chance with Woods hoping he translates his ability to NRL level

Galvin if we could get him for a reasonable price (will be hard because clubs are going to throw 1m+ at him) because he's already established at a decent level and the sky is the limit for him. Woods is no certainty (I like the look of him and will be happy to give him a chance if we don't sign anyone).

Galvin 100%. Woods can play 1 or 7.

If brown is worth 1.3m which he clearly isn’t

Galvin would be easily at that level at least

I’m actually not seeing the hype around Galvin, granted I’ve only watched this years games. He and Luai both run around like neither want to take charge of a game. I dont think Galvin will ever play rep footy.
if woods develops he suits what we need much more than galvin

I also rate Galvin higher than Brown, but I also think Brown is worth ~700-800k. The Knight deal is bizarre to me.

Firstly I think this is a duplicate of another similar thread. Isn't there another thread here along those lines. And to be honest I think Gould once blew similar levels of smoke up Burton's ass before he was fully established.

I haven't really watched a lot of Tigpies games. I didn't think he did much in the trial I watched, but he was talked up all game. So I am not really entitled to make a judgement call on Galvin. But what I know of people in NRL commentary positions is that they're prone to blow smoke up the ass of players that look exciting in teams that are playing very poorly.

So whether Galvin is the Messiah for the Tigpies or not I can't say. There seems to be a lot of people wanting to call his farts perfume. But I'm not going to jump on that bandwagon yet. I've seen snippets of Woods in the junior origin ranks and lower grades games. I'm not prepared to call him our messiah yet either.

I'd persist with Sexton and Burton myself until Woods takes a bigger step towards the NRL. If Woods forces himself into the 6 or 7 at the expense of Sexton or Burton it's great news. Upgrading the roster with good halves that we scouted and developed is nice. But if we buy in another player on huge coin I'd want to know it's not a youngster that's just shown he's got a running game.

Galvin will 100% play rep footy, he’s 19 and already 25 games into his career with much more improvement to come

He has been shit this year, way to erratic. Him and Luai jumping all over the place is ridiculous lol

I too don't recognise the hype around galvin i have watched tigpies games on tv he's young & i think he will get better but in a better side.

Woods any day. Woods definitely has the talen. He has proved this in the lower grades. He was one of the most sort after your players from AFL, union and league. Has a track record. Just has to be nursed into the topgrafe so he gets the confidence to do the same in the NRL. He hasn't even had that chance.

I actually think he is a bit like Galvin in size and playing ability. But I think Woods has more potential.

But the biggest factor in his favor is that he is a Bulldog. Lives in the area, played sports for local schools and teams. He wants to be a Bulldog and you can't but that. It can give that extra 10% that gets you over the line.

Tigers if they are smart should be locking Galvin up as they have put in the hard work and he is a Tiger.

Persist with woods and wait or buy Galvin he and burto can play either side of the ruck, think woods will come good but that’s atleast 2 years away

Will Hopoate was way above his peers and everyone was saying he was going to be a superstar because he was doing stuff other 19 yo weren't doing.

Galvin is going great but he seems very similar to when Braith Anasta arrived on the scene in 2001.

I agree that his ceiling might be much higher in a better team but that might just be abit of bias by judging tigers players by their clubs history. The argument can also be that a better team might carry him or make him look better than he is.

Will be too expensive. With the team we have, cant have enough spare cap space for a million dollar half. Im fine with Sexton and Woods as backup for the moment

Gus has been glazing this kid for eva. Possibly earmarked to play 7 (or 6 with Woods 7 when ready). Feels like a Gus vs Uncle Nick scenario
