Ryan Sutton has finally overcome his injuries and is ready to put in a good season.
Didn't Sutton complain last year he didn't understand Ciraldos defensive system?

Lets hope with another off-season under his belt he has a better understanding because being injury free will not help him otherwise.

Yeh Sutton needs to step up after a shocking year.

King hopefully stays healthy as he is quality even if not elite. Knight needs to stay on the park as with those 3 it’s not dogshit at least.

Hopefully Hughes punch’s out a great year like Preston did bursting into the scenes and we can make do for a decent season if kikau Preston and Curran and the backs stay fit with Mahoney.

It’s funny that Hughes has become our savior all of a sudden after Gus tweets about him
He’s the 2nd biggest body in the club behind Booth and did get some NRL games under his belt in 2023…it’s a pretty natural thought for most of us with or without the Gus tweet.

Jordan Grant has signed with Penrith on train & trial. I heard Gus was interested.
Keep listening, you’ll eventually learn that Gus is interested in everyone and anyone .. he and the Bulldogs brand = great click bait results.

And let’s say it did happen to be true, the way things stand right now, if offered the chance, would you choose to sign a train & trial with the 3peat Panthers or us Bulldogs ?

Not really sure what is controversial about the assertion that King/Knight will be better than than Thommo/TPJ. This time last year we were looking forward to a starting prop pair of Thommo and TPJ, and look what we got. Out of a possible 48 games between them we got 21, they are both gone now, mostly because of bad luck in the first case, and bad attitude in the second. King and Knight are at least going to turn up and play. King was injured most of the season but missed only 1 game. Knight turned up once the season was more than halfway over and played 10. When it comes to errors and penalties:

King/Knight in 33 games = 16 errors and penalties
Thommo/TPJ in 21 games = 20 errors and penalties.

The assertion is saying more about how big a let down the prospective Thommo/TPJ pairing was.

TPJ and Thommos were defensively poor to atleast once a game our middle would get strolled through because of the big gap they would leave.

Missed tackles in 2023:

King/Knight in 33 games = 60 missed tackles
Thommo/TPJ in 21 games = 57 missed tackles
So essentially we have saved about 800k and tightened our defence . . . That's a win win imo

King might be, Liam Knight is pretty meh, and he has errors and penalties in him. Least we get two fit players rather than Thommo and TPJ but not sure the output on field will be much better

Questioning the greatest mind that has ever graced out great game is batship crazy. Gus is not only usually the sexiest man in the room at any NRL function, he is also the most learned.
Great player, great coach and a great administrator . . . Anyone that thinks we aren't lucky to have him running our club, has no idea !

He is having a standout preseason. Hoping it turns into a standout year on the field. Still young, raw and developing - big future.
