If JAC wants to come back to Sydney, offer him 300k to play for us. Take it or leave it. If we snatch him for that price fantastic. If not then someone else can outbid us and pay up

His daughters like 10, as he had her when he was 15.

Hard to imagine he'll want to be away from his girl as she enters an important stage in her life as a teenager and young woman.

Admirable he's been able to be away from her for so long, just to provide for his family.

I just have a feeling he will go back home......
agree and thats ok if he does. personally i like the look of this backrow but Jackson is holding us back.
11. Topine (if he has a good halfback inside him and Cotric outside him then his youth and inexperience will be subsided)
12. Fifita (throw massive coin at him)
13. Elliot (he's been good gotta keep him aslong as he eases up abit with the ball playing and just uses his leg drive and focuses on quick play the balls)

I'd be happy with Bateman, Hastings and Cotric. Have absolutely no interest in JAC, waste of money. Buy a hooker or hold the cash and wait for a more ideal player to hit the market.
Agree, i see Addo-Carrs best attribute is his character getting people having a laugh around training and bringing some life to the joint... obviously an elite talent, but for the price he wants its not worth it for us.

Confirmed he's leaving Berra - https://wwos.nine.com.au/nrl/john-b...-of-2020/4f102317-bb9b-44ee-8aa8-b618bb6c94b3

The Canberra Raiders have confirmed restless English star John Bateman will leave the club at the end of this season.

Bateman has been in the headlines regularly since grand final week last year after he controversially revealed in an interview that he was seeking a pay upgrade and would go elsewhere to get it if he needed to.

Nine months later the saga finally has a resolution with Canberra unprepared to pay him what he believes he is worth.

"The club made the difficult decision to allow John to pursue other long-term options and as a result, 2020 will be his final season with the Raiders," club CEO Don Furner said in a statement.

"We're looking forward to John returning from his shoulder injury soon and finishing his time by helping us make the semi finals again.

"John was fantastic in 2019, featuring in our first Grand Final appearance since 1994 and winning the Dally M for second rower of the year."

Bateman tells Raiders he won't be at club in 2021

English Test star John Bateman has told Canberra he will be on the move in 2021 as he weighs up whether to move to Canterbury or back home to his family and former club Wigan.

Bateman has a three-year offer on the table from the Bulldogs and a four-year deal from his old Super League outfit, with the contracts both understood to be worth around $2 million.

Neither the Bulldogs or Wigan have made any official comment on Bateman's future.

Bateman informed the Raiders on Tuesday that he will exit the club at the end of the season.

A return to the UK looms as the most likely option for the 26-year-old, who is expected to have less than 10 games remaining in Canberra colours due to his ongoing shoulder injury.

With his 10-year-old daughter Millie living in England, along with Bateman’s extended family, the lure of being in the same time zone as his loved ones is understandably drawing him home.

He has been sidelined with a shoulder injury that required a second round of surgery due to complications in his recovery from an operation in February.

Bateman's return date from injury remains unclear, though NRL.com has been told he is still at least another month, if not two, away from a comeback.

If Bateman is out for another eight weeks he will not be back in lime green around mid-August, leaving him with only six regular season games for the Raiders, and any potential finals fixtures, before moving on.

In a statement issued by the club, Bateman thanked the Raiders for the chance to play in the NRL and said he would do everything he could to finish his time with the club in the best way possible.

If Wigan are offering him a 4 year 2 million deal (500k per year) we need to be offering 4 years 3 million (750k year).
He's the on field winner we need in a position we need filled, should really be a no brainer.
Then we need a hooker (Grant or Watson), centre (Cotric) another middle (Welch, Tamou, Molo) and some quality youngsters looking for a chance type signings (Sailor, J and A Hopoate, Hynes, Farnworth, Niu, Murchie, Clifford)

Would love him at Belmore but possibly a tough sell against going home when he misses his little girl, has an offer from his old club and if the deals are comparable, though possibly we’ve got the edge there.

C’mon Dogs, get it done, convince him we’re family too! Hang out with Thommo and reminisce about the Old Dart!

If the dogs can arrange his daughter to come over on compassionate grounds in the off season for a holiday (even before he officially starts with us) Could be enough.. after all we are the family club ;)
