Yep barrett needs to be careful of all the clubs in the world knocking on elliots door when he was off contract!!!

Which clubs where they again? Warriors and the hopeless dragons lol
Hopeless dragons who are still in the 8 while we languish in 16th. If they had've got their man, they beat us yesterday.

Seriously, it's not unusual for only a few bottom tier clubs to show interest in a rough diamond with untapped potential. Top clubs are happier with their rosters and generally have cap space tied up elsewhere. Bellamy would take him for less than the strugglers if he was available....and in time he would increase his wealth exponentially.

Special mention to JMK. He made a huge difference today and was a huge upgrade over Katoa. I and plenty of others have been critical of JMK over the years, but credit where credit is due.

JMK's defence has always been solid, his effort is generally strong and he has great pace for a dummy half but his decision making and poor service are his biggest flaws.

Ideally we still get a long overdue upgrade at hooker but if JMK keeps playing like he did today, maybe he should be re-signed at as a backup/bench option.

Do you guys think this is a sign of things to come and he should be re-signed or a good game against an average team and we should still move on from him?
He is definitely the best hooker at our club, and should be re-signed either way imo. Smith would be great, but JMK would be his understudy/back up. Katoa can retire in the UK, Dietz is on min wage, so no need for him to be in discussions.

At this stage, and nothing looks like changing, JMK must be kept for ‘22.

If before then we somehow manage to jag a premium DH, then JMK to the bench. If we don’t, and we probably won’t, then JMK is the best DH in the club by pleeeeeeeeeeeenty and he’s the one we got to work on. It can’t be understated having a DH that just does his job pass selection and hitting the targets and doing his tackles made a difference to us yesterday. In fact I’d say THE difference.

There’s no one better in the club, there’s no one better on the immediate horizon.

Must be kept.

He is, but that's not saying much. I'd still rather wait and see him string some solid games together before they make him an offer, even if it is only as a backup. Hopefully he steps up to the plate. If he runs it as many times as he did yesterday, he's a much more effective player.

Please. He's garbage. Not wanted, it was only barrett walking into a very weak squad that saved his retention. He wont get another contract here

JMK has the potential to be a great dummy half... He has speed, a kicking game and great defence however he lacks in putting them altogether every week and as most have said his passes can be questionable but not shocking!

IF we cannot find someone better then him (Enough with reserve graders please) invest in a fucking Specialist dummy half coach to work with him in the off season and throughout the year...

This is where Barrett mentions his performance in front of the whole group & says to him; keep playing like that & It will earn you a contract. It might make some others lift too.

I have mulled over this for most of the day @B-Train

We can't blame JMK for receiving expert coaching from Steve James. Let's be completely objective, his career went 5 years backwards after the first 6 months with Mr James. Now that he is being coached by blokes who have a clue, we are seeing some real improvement.

Hope he can keep this up.

Did you know he is Benji Marshall’s brother?

As in the Benji Marshall that played for Tiger Wests and won one grand final in 2005

Exactly in just very few games all year too so it's a promising sign, needs to replicate this style should gain some confidence from yesty's effort.
Play well consistently and he should get offered a new deal.I liked the fact he went the full 80 and KAToa didnt get on the ground.
