BBO & Averillo have some good things in their game considering how much of a mess the team looks.

The team and structures have to improve as a whole.

I am 100 percent convinced this is a team issue/structure issue. How do Storm make players like Stimson look good and then when he arrives here he looks completely lost? I don't want to single out individual players unless they make repeated unforced errors like Hypethrington & Knock-on-more
100% no cohesion and no structure in the team. No second phase and no support for offloads.. there's so many issues in this team I don't know where to start..

crazy how some people wont think about persisting with a guy who is clearly talented, young as fuck, bulldog through and through and the only guy who created ANYTHING today. why do you think we lose so many good juniors? cant wait to see the same people shitting on BBO soon. crazy

I know I am being harsh as he is still young and given limited opportunities and playing in a terrible squad. Unfortunately I can see Averillo becoming like Moses Mbye. Doesn't really have a specialist position and only an impact player off the bench. I really hope he proves me wrong and succeeds at the club.

Averagedildo will be like a heavy chain and anchor around buttons neck, needs to go back to reserve grade and absolutely kill it before coming back up ever again.
Sorry your kicking game at 19 years old should be good. I see juniors that would make him look stupid. Being babied to long.
Your right. His kicking game is a an absolute disgrace. It’s not rocket science. Simple last tackle kicks are embarrassing and not even up to reserve grade standard. He simply is not up to first grade standard. Over-rated for my liking.

Harder to blame him when he isn’t playing, to be honest
Not really, he is the cause of this rot. Man baby Flanno was too busy giving interviews and telling everyone what he was going to do and how he was here to be a leader … he just forgot to do it after he kept telling everyone about it.

how is he not a half? i personally think hes more suited to be a fullback or five eighth, but hes the only one in our team that can actually set up a try right now it seems. seriously we have no one better at the club to play half back right now, why dont we actually persist with someone who has talent for once?

When Des, Dib & raelene took us to the stone age the simple strategy would have been to horse trade out where posssible to reduce cap stress & simply concentrate on junior talent until we got our cap in order. Instead we got so fixated with an immediate fix we picked up flogs like Woods, Napa, Katoa & DWZ on monster coin and simply compounded our issue. Now Barrett has continued this strategy with knee jerk buys in Allen, Waddell, Flanno & Hetherington (I like his aggression but he refuses to adjust his style so he will spend most of his career on the sideline) & we are simply replacing the turds we flush with new turds. In the meantime our juniors continue to remain a fucking god awful cesspool of reserve graders. Our top 30 this year should have had 8 to 10 promising juniors in it at least. Gould has one hell of a mess to mop up. By the way BBO is a bench hooker at this stage of his career & Averillo is a center not a play maker.

I would agree with Averillo to centre, but just remember his terrible defence when he played there

Swap him and BBO. His kicks don’t do us any favours. He goes missing when we are in the twenty about to score. He falls in love with the inside ball to Jackson. He needs to take more control of the game. If you really want to persist with him put back at Fullback. Play Lewis for the rest of the year at 6 BBO at 7. No point giving Meaney experience. It’s not like we can make the finals. Start preparing for next season. Let em fight for the position. He’s definitely not a walk in.

If we kept foran this year we are not on the bottom of the table
Yes but the most important thing we got out of this season was sifting through the team, planning for the future.

In all honesty if we kept Foran, would BBO or even Averillo get solid game time? Would Flannagan have been shown up? Yes we got the spoon but the progress made this year is massive... not the ideal learning structures but definitely fast tracked.

2022 looks so much more clearer knowing who will play where being allowed to chop and change around so much....

I think Averillo's best position is centre....have a look at his highlights package, he is a runner, his best attributes are his pace and ability to get through a hole

At centre his first instinct will be to run which comes more naturally to him

He is not an organiser, game manager, or tactical kicker....he is a runner. He is only in the halves because we have nobody else

I also think his defence has improved dramatically this year

With another off season to improve his strength, and next year hopefully with our team providing more go forward and hopefully some proper organisation and service to the outside backs with some room to move, he could absolutely be an attacking weapon out wide

I think playing fullback is just like halfback in that it has too many other attributes that is needed and he is untested there. I can't see him naturally taking bombs, getting smashed bringing the ball back, organising the defence etc. Most want him at fullback because of his running game

Put him in the centres outside Burton and TPJ and inside either Fox or Cotric and I think that will be his best chance to shine

Either way he has to prove himself along with Naden and Shoupp to get a position, and hopefully the wraps on Alamoti are true and he is also pushing for a spot sooner or later

We offered him 1 year, he knocked it back.
He was always going to hook back up with the Despot once he’d collected his superannuation from us.
When that happened we signed Green.
When that fell through we signed Flanagan.
And here we are. It’s never easy.

He looks over-coached to me. It’s almost sad to watch an exceptionally talented athlete and footballer operating in a seemingly robotic state.

The instinctive eyes up footy that brought him success through the grades is absent from his game atm. It’s overly structured, robotic and premeditated.

Its a tough gig he’s been tasked with at such tender age, especially when you consider the weight of responsibility he’s been tasked with. His kicking game has potential but is still a work in progress with a lack of variety of craft. He needs help from his halves partner in sharing the load. I have no idea why BBO didn’t take a single long kick today considering he has a strong punt on him.

Needs to take the FB role from Meaney/Allan.

No fucking clue why we are so gun shy with moving a player that actually has played in that role given Meaney and Allan are horrid under the high ball and can't defend to save their lives anyway

It looks like Baz is gonna give Averillo the remainder of 21 in the halves even tho it’s looking like he isnt the answer rn. I would have much more faith in him as a centre. Or as a 14. He’s just too good a runner to leave out of the side. He’d be lethal without the burden of controlling the side. He isn’t Nathan Cleary.

BBO is levels above we’ve tried so many halves over the years but BBO is what we need. He can run, his kicking game is actually first grade standard and to top it of his playing with poor quality players.

TBH I liked averillo at first however his being used incorrectly he has talent but he isn’t a halfback his more or a runner of the footy. Centre would suit him ,utility as a running half and fullback wouldn’t be a bad shout.

Next year we should run

1. Dufty
2. Cotric
3. Naden
4. Schoup/averillo
5. Addo car

6. Burton
7. BBO
9. Jmk

JMK until we get a better hooker. His a decent player just nothing special.

People need to lay off him ffs. His 20 years old still learning the game. Had no pre season training at halfback. Give him a chance with better players and a full pre season training at halfback under his belt.

shame on all the so called supporters for throwing shit on Jake, He’s shown glimpses this year in the 7 jersey despite being surrounded by turds next to him, he is still one of our danger players that can hit a hole, has shown he can produce SOME good kicks, he’s put players through the line, and he’s got speed…. He obviously needs help around him and hopefully he can spark up a combo with burton. Yes he’s made mistakes but he’s a youngster still learning the game, he’s come into a disgraceful side during the darkest period in our history
He's a centre or winger sorry. His ONLY attribute is his side-step and speed. His kicks and passing game aren't first grade standard for a half. Yesterday he threw up a pass to no-one which was caught on the full by one of the Tigers. His kicks weren't high enough or in the right position. He doesn't take on the line enough either. He needs other halves to be feeding him good ball out wide then get one-on-one with a defender. He's a finisher, not a creator.
