What really pissed me off about the flat pass / forward pass was that, if the NRL were remotely interested in getting correct refereeing decisions, marginal calls like that would be allowed to run until the play finishes and the ball is dead. There would then be plenty of time to examine the pass from all angles and make an informed decision on whether or not it was forward.
We were stiffed the same way last season when JAC ran the length of the field to score, but the referee's whistle had already gone for a "knock-on", that clearly wasn't a knock on when examined properly. To add insult to injury, the Fox wasn't allowed to challenge because he had used up his allotted time scoring the try.
