My son just saw JAC 4 year deal @ 500k on nine not sure if anyone else saw it

"above 2m" was what was reported. 600k a year would be 2.4m which would be above 2m. 700k a year would be 2.8m and you'd think they'd say "shy of 3m" or something like that. I'd be happy with anything between 600-700k. If it turned out to be 550-600k a year that'd be perfect and a really good price for us imo.

It worries me a bit that he hasn't accepted the offer if it's such a good offer.

Perhaps it may simply be due to the Tiger's HOA and that we're waiting for the Tigers to discard it so he can sign for this season. Might explain why the article says the ball is in the Tigers court.

Id give it really a good thinking over first, 4 years for only 2 mill when your probably the hottest back in the world at the minute. Id certainly take my time with that decision. Yeah 500k a season is low balling he can get more than that

Agree, he will aim for the tv gig. Probably make similar coin in the long run after you factor in relocation costs etc. might also look to do some specialist coaching similar to Johns boys

You would have to think it’s closer to 2.5 for four years and he’s definitely worth that. I think the tigers have withdrawn the heads of agreement contract now so 2021 is a real possibility

As I understand it the heads of agreement was non binding.....JAC's manager was supposed to meet with the Tigers so they could formally start drawing up the contract but neither he nor JAC turned up for the meeting. They never even attempted to make contact nor give the Tigers an explanation for their lack of interest.

So with that out of the way, and if JAC wants to come back to Sydney and play fullback . I think we’re the most logical and possibly only option now

Like I said in another thread we shouldn't count our chickens until all the eggs have hatched....In this case the logical thing to do is wait and see I guess. There is an old saying there is many a slip to the lip which basically means anything can happen between now and any announcement re JAC.

I didn’t see your post on the other thread but I agree.and I’m not saying it’s a done deal either.But If he really wants to come back to Sydney, Play fullback or even if its just for the extra money we can offer all that. And I can’t think of any other team who can offer all of those things in 2021

JAC is a very proud indigenous person and and you're right maybe no other club could offer him in 2021 what we could but all reports are targeted for 2022. 2021 and what might happen is just speculation. It has been reported rightly or wrongly his preference would be to play for South Sydney. The fact that the rabbitohs have an aura about them being the NRL's version of an indigenous team must play heavy in their favor. Let's not forget a lot his bruh's play for bunny skinners. He may not get to play his preferred position at Souths and he may even take less money to play for them, in the end the decision is his to make. We put an offer on the table now it's up to the fox to do what is right for him.

If the indigenous aspect ,ie the history and playing with the current indigenous players at Souths are his highest priority or anywhere near and good on him if that is the case, we are no chance. If he just wants to be close to his family in Sydney and have what we have offered is equally important ,we are a good chance . It’s a lot of factors for him to weigh up and try to prioritise.
