Penrith’s worst stretch of games in the last 4 years were when Burton took over the halves duty during Origin. Haven’t seen anything from him ever maybe outside of reserve grade that shows he is a half.
In hindsight, and when his ability as a 5/8 is forensicly :grinning: evaluated..it was fantasmagorical that he walked into the 5/8 position at a club without any real runs on the board, based on his outstanding form as a centre really and our desperation to buy some players who we thought could make a difference.

He is without doubt a great player when he puts in but this decision unfortunately can be added to the list of mistakes and miscalculations by the club and it's decision makers. Burto hasn't repaid the faith in him.

This is his 3rd year as the starting 5/8 and the most alarming thing is he has not developed a pass, ability to put players through holes, dig deep into the line and pass.
He has no progressed at all.
He should just go to the NFL where all he has to do is kick. It will suit him to a tea.
This is an absolutely terrible signing.
Is it the bad coaching? Is it him? Is it a combination of both?

He has a high kick but no depth, the AFL boys have him covered. Time to play centre and he wouldn’t be elite doing that

The majority of his runs on the board were him being a running 5/8th which is exactly the opposite of what we have him playing. He has shown zero ability as a ball player either

This guy doesn't even look like he's emotional invested in the team. You hardly see anything like him blowing up and raising his hands in protest, he just fucking keeps to himself on the left edge. Most halves are footy heads.... they're the kids who are always wanting to get their hands on the ball at every opportunity.

Maybe the coaching look at RFM last night had probably his best game in 5 years

Maybe an explanation is he has always had the size to dominate other halves in juniors and it was easy in the Penrith system to coast along with chances handed to him.

The most concerning thing is lack of involvement and creativity. We can all see he is capable.

Burton to centre, there I just solved all of Canterbury's problems and saved the coaches career

Take Mitchell Moses out of the Parra side, and we could have beaten them.

Give us Hunt at halfback and we'd beat anyone.

Youre delusional not 1 of our props ran over 100meters yesterday.. Our starting prop had 29 run meters do you understand that halves work off the back of go forward? Forwards win games.. Junior Paulo alone ran for more then both our starting props combined.

I think Burton will go back to Penrith and play 6.

No pressure on him at Panthers and Cleary will do all the organizing.

It will free him like it did to Luke Brooks.

Burton has talent, but he doesn't have the heart or desire to be an alpha player.

He is a sidekick style player.

Burton has not developed into a #6 for whatever reason that may be

One thing that looks likely to happen is that Burton will be what Brooks was for the Tigers..... a disaster

Burton is a footballer. Just too young to steer a struggling side. Should have never left Penrith or moved to a storm or similar successful team to improve. He arrived here and has flat lined and hasn’t improved his game atall, the kid has all the talent in the world but unfortunately it’s gona be another brooks type of signing and we won’t see the best of him until he plays in a better system. My 2 cents

Mate when I watched him at panthers playing in the halves in nsw cup he carved up our side single handed. He also done ok playing in halves in Penrith. I just don’t think this is the right team for him. Doesn’t help with a coach who keeps trying to play Penrith type footy which clearly has not worked and will not work with the current crop we have

He's a ball runner that excels when attacking space, that's it. He is not a half. Watch him play.

Burton is a flop. Like for fucks sake do some thing other than bomb to the left . Predictable and gay. Opposition teams aren’t caught off guard, why ciro kept ado carr on is beyond me. And how did we have so many errors ?!?!?
Only reason to keep the Fox on if he received good ball and gries ensued. No way in hell that was going to happen with Burton.
Him and Hutchinson were only shovellers. No spark, no variation, nothing.
