I don't mind the mistakes but he was nowhere near enough around the ruck and looking for the offload to run through a gap. Fancy footwork doesn't make a good FB hard work and consistency does.

Written off before a ball kicked in our colours - give the bloke a chance….he’ll be better having a pre-season, proper structure and spine on his side.

If he’s still struggling, we can revert back to Avo or even try someone like Declan Casey.

Big call to drop avo, would of liked to see what he could’ve been with a preseason at 1. Hopefully Perham plays better than that for us.

The whole back-line and spine were terrible.

What ever happened to that young fella at Canberra last year who played fullback 8n the trials and carved up, did he end up playing any nrl fullback for raiders in season proper?

Trust the Kennel to write off players based on one preseason game. Both these teams today have been terrible.

Only way to really know how Perham and the rest of our players really perform is from Round 1 onwards.
Stop upsetting their "Bulldogs-are-always-shit" narrative.

Who cares about how he goes in an exhibition game? Docker Klay looked like the second coming of Craig Gower yet he will be captaining Roosters Ron Massey cup team lol relax folks

Stats from the game
14 runs, 121 metres, 4 tackle busts, 1 linebreak, 4 kicks, 3 errors.
I think he done alright considering it was his first big game. Went from in and out of Reggie’s to starting fullback for the all stars, the halves were no help all the pressure was on Hayze half the time.
He does look fit though which is a good sign our boys are really doing the hard yards this pre season.

Certainly not the most promising display by Hayze in this game. Hopefully it’s just because it was a disjointed side with a pathetic spine. Either way plenty for him to address and work on

Needs to get more involved as Averillo did also. At least Perham won't get ragdolled by defenders

Maori structures were all over the place. Sure he threw a few haymakers but it could have just been one of those days... remember how bad Casey was on debut for us, and then he had a fair outing against Souths. I'm sure his positioning will also be better when he's playing along side more genuine first graders and isn't stuck filling gaps.
