Injury Ward: TPJ & Casey Update

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs has provided the latest on the club's injury front.

Tevita Pangai Junior

  • Projected Return: Round 19 v Titans
  • Injury: Plantaris Tendon Rupture
Forward Tevita Pangai Junior ruptured a small muscle during a hit-up in last weekend's Round 16 fixture. Scans showed a rupture to the plantaris tendon which lies adjacent to the achilles. Pangai Junior will resume running when pain settles.

Declan Casey

  • Projected Return: Round 18 v Rabbitohs
  • Injury: Concussion
Canterbury-Bankstown's latest debutant suffered a concussion in our Round 16 fixture against the Cronulla Sutherland Sharks in Round 16. Declan Casey was cleared for any spinal injury after a precautionary check up at the hospital post match. He will undertake mandatory concussion protocols to return to play.

Corey Allan

  • Projected Return: Round 22 v Warriors
  • Injury: Groin
Bulldogs centre Corey Allan suffered a groin injury during training this week. The injury will set back Allan, who is estimated to be out for approximately 6 weeks.

Paul Alamoti

  • Projected Return: Round 21 v Cowboys
  • Injury: Fractured Cheekbone/Eye Socket
Local Junior Paul Alamoti suffered a fracture cheekbone/eye socket in NSW U19s 32-4 victory over Queensland at Leichhardt Oval last Thursday night. The young centre will see a specialist to determine the full extent of his injury.

Chris Patolo

  • Projected Return: Indefinite
  • Injury: Concussion
Bulldogs forward Chris Patolo failed an HIA Test in our win over the Parramatta Eels in Round 14. He was unable to return to the field after the youngster's head collided with an opposing player's hip in the first half. Patolo will be assessed by a specialist during the week to determine his projected return.

Ava Seumanufagai

  • Projected Return: Round 22 v Warriors
  • Injury: Soleus Strain
Veteran forward Ava Seumanufagai will be sidelined for several weeks after injuring his calf during training in the lead up to our Round 14 fixture against the Parramatta Eels. Further diagnosis revealed Seumanufagai had strained his soleus muscle, which will keep the Samoan International off the paddock till our Round 22 clash against the New Zealand Warriors.

Luke Thompson

  • Projected Return: Indefinite
  • Injury: Concussion
English International Luke Thompson was ruled out with delayed symptoms of concussion heading into our Round 13 match against the Penrith Panthers. The forward will be assessed throughout the week before he is given clearance to make his return to the field.

Jack Hetherington

  • Projected Return: 2023
