Cant really compare with past teams as the rules and style has changed. Teams back before 6 again and other new rules wont be as fit as current players, to play under current rules. But if they played under the rules the past teams played under, it may favour the past team

Consider this - Cronk and Cleary have both won 3 consecutive titles. Yes, Cronk has 1 more (arguably 3 more), however he did not achieve this feat at the ripe young age of 25 like Nathan has.

Considering that as a halfback, Cleary has not yet hit his peak, and that NSW tend to lose when he's not playing, speaks volumes.

NSW lose when Cleary plays also. He has won 7 and lost 7 in Origin. DCE is better at Origin than Cleary.

Cronk played in 9 GF. Twice he played in 4 in a row.

Also Cleary’s competition at halfback is at an all-time low.

Anyway, none of that has anything to do with my statement of Cronk being smarter than Cleary.

Mate Cleary is better now, than Cronk was ever. Cronk got smarter and better the longer he went, but Cleary has surpassed him already. There isn't 1 thing Cronk could do at the peak of his powers, that Cleary isn't already doing better
