Opinion Improvements for next year 2025

I bloody hope so, he's got ball playing ability, can run and can pull off big hits in defence too (from the limited 1st grade we saw of him last year)

How great would it be to have a bench of

14. KO
15. Curran
16. Sitili
17. Amone (provided he lives up to hopeful expectations)
1. Tracey
2. Wilson
3. Xerri
4. Critta
5. Kiraz
6. Burto
7. SEX-BOMB
8. TBC - NEW ALPHA PROP NEEDED ASAP!!!
9. Reed
10. Hughes
11. Kiks
12. Sitili
13. Presto
14. Mann until Karl O is match fit (after 6 weeks in cup. He's too talented to play reserve grade)
15. Curran
16. King - He's best suited to a bench role
17. Amone (if hes any good) otherwise someone else not on the roster yet

need to improve on scrum defence 10m out from the try line

Need to actually understand that set moves from scrums are actually a thing. We defend every one of these scrum situations the same way. With no confidence at all.

On the flip side, knowing that we are allowed to have an attacking set play when we have an attacking scrum also. When the defensive line is stretched.

Lol not even just at an attacking scrum but at any stage of any game. I can’t remember the last time we ran a set play at all.

Vs Rorters at Accor when Taaffe scored. That was a scrum play.

Rorters are also masters of the tactical penalty. Break early if you have the lead and give away the penalty, reset the defensive line.

we cant afford him.. hes on like 1.2m a year isnt he?
Yes we can afford him but here are the problems
He has 2 years contract + 2 years option.
Mitchell Woods is regarded as our future X factor.
Will we do anything to upset that ?
Or can Moses be used as Woods mentor ?

Whats this trash you benched the best lock at the club and plan to replace him after 6 weeks, Moved a guy with a perfect build to play on an edge to lock LMAO

Great Post billy beane....

And yep - writing is therapeutic for all of us to mend our broken hearts, I'm thinkin'!!
I was zombie-fied for about 24 hours.

But your post makes good sense.
A quick, incisive 14 to give Reed a bit of a break would help Reed and the team.
Can't see any in the wings. Turpin was supposed to be that back up guy ...but he's been injured a lot & not real quick either.
Even Hayward ... not quick enough for mine. (Least Turps and Hayward can both tackle and pass - so they get the nod on that score).
Maybe Kurt Mann?? Give him a stint at #13 for 30 minutes - bring him back on as #9 for 15-20 mins in the 2nd half to give Reed a spell..

And yep - Tracey HAS to learn how to tackle...that was pretty sad. (Remember Will Hopoate & the General - now those boys could tackle).
Love Tracey - but that's his new Everest.

Middles - Lipoi has speed & grunt; Todd has speed, size and skill. Both low error guys.
Young and inexperienced for sure ....BUT they have the DNA
Surely they can both learn the Hayward 1st receiver role - I've seen both of them do it already in NSW cup games.
Spend extras in the off season refining those basic distributor skills - Isaiah Yeo can do it - why not them?!!
They are both waaaay too good to be in Cup.

Cheers mate ...

Bullshit, you need to go back and watch the game again.

The Panthers so called "come back" happened when Leota and JFH returned to the field which restored their go forward and stopped the Donkey's stone cold.

Team First
No matter what anyone says, Cogger is the one who engages and squares up the line to give Cleary the space he needs. Yes the bash brothers helped, but the half still has to have the initiative to utilise the space created

For all of Gould's strengths and there's many I give him a lot of credit where it's due. He does has some weaknesses and one of them is that he does get restless. He's been often to sell players off to buy other players and are they any real improvement. I really do hope this has changed because this current side really grew on so many of our fans and whilst there's some nutters who want us to sign every player on the market and sack what we have the majority of fans do like see a team grow together and achieve massive milestones in the process. It be great to see Burton and a few others get to 200 first grade games with us. Gould did say on the podcast he does with that so called commentator it's a roster that's had little time together and developed as the year went on. I hope this is an omen we stick with what we have and we bring up the rest. It may stop our fans creating stupid threads linking us to Jarrod Wallace and Selwyn Cobbo.
Really
Hope Burton doesn’t crack 200 unless there is a marked improvement :(

Good team that's just going to get better and if there's form patches or whatever, there should be players to fill in and make a difference.

King has been durable, good for a long season has played plenty I suspect when not at 100%, for the team, always having a crack and I assume coach is loving his dedication to doing what the coach is asking for on the field.

Sam Hughes is just getting started and only going to get better.

Looking like we're ready to build on what we have, keep improving, few players incoming and outgoing but nothing dramatic that'll potentially be destabilising .

Won't be surprised to see Sitili grown into that Curran type role. Hayes, Hipoi are thumbs up as long as they're doing what coach is asking for and nothing silly. Gus loves a strong bench doesn't he?

This mighty bulldogs means a lot to all our loyal fans. And I will be honest about watching every bulldogs games week in

We are a few pieces short which is commanding, or rather say nice to that the Club and it's management does pretend things are perfect. With due respect to the Coaching staff the Board and Laundy. But I'm confident that the end goal is the Premier ship, not just to make the numbers. We could possibly get worse before Wednesday get better and better. So I'm saying that for a top 4 finish will be consistently will be a thing in the next 2-3 years and I'm sure of it. Too much talent coming through so will see. But for a Quick fix and avoid pretending the club needs to sign 2 more consistent middle forwards and a half back who can manage the football team around that can assist Burto in general control with their game management. 10Q

Wilson is a solid back-up but we should aim higher for a regular first grader.

Wilson doesn't have the yardage game out of our end.

Our system relies on big back three metres out of trouble.

Crialdo is a massive Burton fan and unless Gus says otherwise Burton will get to 200 he doesn’t get injured and only 24.

lol. Kennedy better than Tracey.
if Kennedy didn’t get injured last year, they wouldn’t have made the finals. Tracey carried them through about 6 games.

this is tracey first real full season not being fill in, we literally haven’t had fullback as good as him in years

I agree with you. Tracey really benefited from having a position to call his own. Felt bad for Taaffe who didn't let us down in his brief time at fullback either.

Yeah, but how much does a knee capping cost? I don't know anybody in that game, do you?

Tell me where he lives and I'll do it for a pack of smokes. I don't smoke either. I'm using them to light up and poke his eyes with so he's not a permanent fixture in the bunker.
