This is kind of a bullshit statement, everyone has the right to an opinion and everyone sees things differently. This place is turning into a joke because people can't accept that some people don't necessarily think des is as shit as others.

And then when someone raises a point or opinion in support of des they get shat on by the anti-des circle jerk and instead of there being any kind of discussion it's just sarcastic replies and people thinking they know more about football than everyone else.
Aftrer watching all the crap that we've dished out the past 3 seasons and how we're further away from a title than we have been since 2008 then yes you are a fucking moron for supporting Des.

Pffft.... Ikin obviously reads this site...

Anyway, I still reckon the smart play is CRONK for 2 years and either Tedesco or Bird. Tedesco is probably the missing by piece but I do wonder over his injury history to be honest...
Foran I'm over after he knocked us back, and he is injury prone also, but he is more solid than moses. We need leaders now more than ever and I reckon Moses is not the answer.

Ideally

Tedesco
Morris
Morris
Lee / M'Bye
Montoya / Hoppa / Lee
M'Bye or Reynolds
Cronk or Foran

9) woolford or M'Bye

14) Reynolds if he accepted a much lesser offer

We are stuck with M'Bye now so we might as well start playing him where he has less responsibility and can play what's in front of him.

Sick one, and when des is gone and we aren't winning shit then either you can hate the next coach too. People don't want to acknowledge that des also got us the closest we've been to a premiership since we won in 04. It's the equivalent of throwing a tantrum when you lash out at people with differing opinions and people have massive recency bias if you're comparing us to 2008

It's time for the club to get aggressive in the player market and plan for next season now:

- Put Zac Woolford on the bench and rotate him with Lichaa for the rest of the season.
- Make Woolford our Hooker for 2017.
- Don't re-sign Lichaa for 2017.
- Don't re-sign Reynolds for 2017.
- Move Mbye to 6 for 2017.
- Sign a fucking Halfback!! HOW HARD CAN IT BE!!!!????
- Re-sign Hopoate ONLY if he stays cheap. If he think he's worth more than $300k a season at this point he's gotta go! If he stays, move him to Centre/Wing.
- Either stick with Abbey and give him time to own that position or sign a fucking Fullback! As above, HOW HARD CAN IT BE!!!????

Woolford can't even make the starting side for the nsw cup team. He is behind Garvey.. Woolford is for the future. I agree with most of your post though. Abbey is too raw for me and has to show he belongs in first grade. He isn't ready imo. We honestly need a halfback alongside mbye

Realistic line up.

1. Teddy
2. Borris
3. Jorris
4. Lee
5. Montoya
6. Reynolds
7. Specialist proven half backno idea who? Maybe if there is a way to lure Cronk with getting his misses to tell him you either move to Sydney now and play for bulldogs or you can't touch my pussy.
8. Graham
9. Possibly mbye I'd rather a different player but since he's already contracted.....
10. klemmer
11. Jackson
12. Kasiano
13. Eastwood

14. RFM
15.?
16.?
17.?

I know keeping Reynolds at 6 is controversial and not ideal but may come up cheaper than another 5/8 I doubt anyone will pay 800k for him, plus having a halfback that would neek albek if he fuks up in Cronk and is always yelled at by Cronk I think it could be ok.
But that's only if we get someone like Cronk who would take complete control.

Hasler won us 0 premierships in 5 years and we ain't winning it in 2017. That's the only thing that matters. He's had enough time and it's time for him to go.

That's fair enough, would you have wanted Shane Flanagan gone before last year if you were a sharks supporter?

More than happy to debate you, not because you think I love Hasler (although I do think he is a good coach) but simply because it is easy to sit there in hindsight and say how bad things were or how good they could have been when you don't have the luxury of a crystal ball to see into the future. Finucane is ordinary and he is still mistake prone as is Taupau. Lane got dropped to the reggies again because he is useless and Lloyd Perrett - is he worth $300K? No he isn't. Mbye is still considered to be top drawer by people who are top drawer so I think I'll go with their assessment. Pritchard was only gone for a year so if he wasn't old last year how can he be this year? Gotta run...
You mentioned hindsight, ask @Robbie Fowler , him and i have disliked Des since 2013 and predicted a lot that has happened to the club, call it negativety or call it having a crystal ball etc but we called it as we saw it and we hsve been getting flamed for years. We all have different opinions on players etc and thats fair enough. As for Mbye, put him at FB or hooker and u will see him shine, he is not the type of player as we have seen who can lead a side. Remove that shackle, give him space and opportunity to pick his moments to come into attack and he could make breaks like Teddy or Trjobevic

Yes I would like to see how Mbye would go at FB as well, even centre, he could be a Peachey type player but that would leave us with no hb. Perhaps if Frawley goes OK it might work out that way in coming weeks. Still think Hoppa is a better centre than FB but he has been made to do a job that was needed. Nothing wrong with not liking a coach or a player but looking for every reason to stick it to him and ignoring anything positive that happens ad infinitum does nothing. Haslers record speaks for itself. We have a coach who wins premierships, gets teams into the semis and has a winning % that is as high as anyone else in the comp. I don't care who our coach is but whoever it is I want them to know their job, have a plan and get us winning more than we lose. Despite all the people here with "inside info" there is still no word coming out of the team that they are not listening or not working for him. If we were going that bad you would have by now. We got plenty of that with Ryan and Moore to name a couple that come to mind. We keep going on about why we aren't buying big name players but the cap is keeping us down in that area. We upgraded Kas, Jackson and Klemmer, while honouring existing big contracts with Graham, Mbye, Moz x 2. The rest of them are on prob 200 - 400K. Add that to having Abbey and young Perrett both playing reggies and it doesn't take much to work out there isn't a lot of cap without moving some people on. That's what we had to do to stay under the cap. Now with the new cap we might have a few bucks to spend and if we move a couple of the older blokes on that will give us something to work with to get some good quality young players for key positions. I can well see this being the last year for Graham and Eastwood and maybe only 2 more for the Mozzes. That's a lot of dough coming available in the future.

2008 team had more heart courage and pride wearing the Bulldogs jersey then this sad pathetic bunch we have now.

At least a new coach will try new things, sack players, have better recruiting strategies, cultivate juniors and hopefully bring back Bulldog spirit. Des got us close but didn't win shit, i dont know about you but coming 2nd means fuck all. I want to win and we will never win with Hasler.
Its not lashing out either, its bewilderment at how fans cant see what has eventuated in front of their eyes. I would love to sit down with you Hasler supporters amd watch a game together and discuss the game, I want to see what you see, besides fairies and stars... lol

The last time I checked a contract is still a contract, players can make a lot of waves and misbehave in order to get out of their contracts and most times are successful without any obligations, on the other hand a club that gets rid of a contracted player in most cases have to pay out majority or at least a portion of his contract while playing for another club. where is the fairness in this ?
As for Hasler needless to say he's made several mistakes at Canterbury, but I believe if his intentions are good he can be the coach to turn things around, he needs to change his playing structure otherwise a move will good for both parties !
My 2018 lineup including contracted
players & new additions
1 J TEDSCO/B ABBY
2 B MORRIS/R SMITH
3 J MORRIS/D KENNAR
4 B LEE
5 W HOPOATE/M MONTOYA
6 M MOSES/J CLEELAND
7 K FORAN/M FRAWLEY

8 A TOLMAN
9 M MBYE/Z WOOLFORD
10 D KLEMMER
11 RUNNING S-ROW/R TO'OMAGA
12 J JACKSON/A ELLIOTT
13 G EASTWOOD
14 J GRAHAM
15 S KASIANO
16 J REYNOLDS
17 D FUALALO/F TUALAU
Is it salary cap possible ?
Who needs to go to make it happen ?

Come on dude you should know how the kennel works. Zero football knowledge but a quarter line break from their boy Reynolds and it's all ok.
Anyone who thinks Mbye is any better then Reynolds should stop smoking ice. They are both fucking shit but at least Reynolds wants the ball and has a dig.

The real villain in all our drama (Hasler and Castle are also responsible) is Noel Cleal.

Peter Tunks mentioned yesterday that Jason Hetherington said that we should look at a young player up north. Cleal was obviously eating a pie and couldn't be disturbed and we didn't pursue it. That player was Cameron Munster. We have all now heard how Latrell Mitchell was passed on as was Connor Watson.

Recruitment has been our biggest achilles heel. No-one has replaced the good players that have left. We now have a disjointed squad with no playmakers and no depth in the backline. Our bench is now the weakest I can remember.

If Hasler is to stay (Scary thought) he must bring in 3-4 players in important positions to have any hope of getting to the top.

A fit and focused Foran would be the one I would like to see here followed by Tedesco. If they came the squad would have some balance about it.

The Melbourne formula of having great key position players surrounded by workers is the answer.
