Bro you work to live not live to work,
fuck it take your 10 year long service and then come back and see what happens your company is not closing for another 5 years more opportunities will come.

You don't lose them as such, but if you are in employment you get paid for public holidays. If you, say leave an old job on 22 December, and start a new job on 2 January, you don't get paid for those days you wouldn't be at work anyway...

Does that make sense?

Good advice
At the moment
I am alive to work
I am hoping the other jobs might be little more relaxed

Its funny, Mrs CD and I were trying ot work out when she should take maternity leave (6 months) to maximise holidays. With Easter early, she was gong to start the day after Easter, but then you lost at the other end with Labour Day :grinning:

The thing is
If I don't play it correctly,
I will wind up pissing off good people
It's not a fun position
This may work in your favor?
See if the 3rd company is willing to wait until your long service is up, or if they're willing to carry over your service tenure?

Ok guys
I have it all sorted out now
It's a relief to make a decision and I can now concentrate on other things

I ended up taking Job number 2

The final offer was more money, almost counted the loss of long service
But will more than make if for it in the long run

I just have to tell my current employer

I'll do that next week after the Xmas party

Further updates guys

It's all worked out

My 10 year at my current employer kicks in 4th feb 2018

My new employer has agreed to wait for me to start in mid Feb so I can get my long service

I kinda feel like a **** to my current employer
But

The long service money I will be paid out when I leave is huge for my family
And just a drop in the ocean to my boss bank account

I have made them a lot of money during my 10years with them.

At first I was guilty about doing it this way

But my family has to come first.

Expect resistance from current employer, but just work hard for them.

If they couldn't guarantee long term employment, or aren't in a financial position to have a long term future, they should understand.

They are very financial
They can't guarantee Long term employment cause they are planing to sell the business and retire

I'm not hanging around for that
I have seen far too many businesses fail once sold

I'm doing them a favour getting out early
