Watch how Benji and Widdop nullified RTS with kicks along the ground into touch every set of 6. I have been saying it every match of the Roosters, drill it into touch.

We have to follow what Melbourne did to him. Kick to the corners and when he runs the ball back just gang tackle him, making it hard for him to get up. If we can sap his energy there then it will take him out of the game in other aspects. In saying that, I think if we focus on nullifying Maloney/Hastings then that will mean RTS won't get early ball with room.

We can't stop him, nobody can. You just slow him down.

I have never re watched both 2012 and 2014... too much heart break and disappointment TBH.

2004 on the other hand I have watched like 20 times, I have watched the last 15mins of that game like 100x(no joke) on youtube... lol

Every set, every kick needs to find touch. If we don't and he runs it, keep a straight line in defence. When we hit him, hit him hard, every time he runs it. When he chimes in the back line, hit him harder, even after passing it. Smash the *****!

Difference is that the Chooks halves will put a kick in behind whereas our halves failed to do so in 2012...so the storm just rushed as all night without fear.

The lack of variety in our attack in both 12 & 14 deciders was almost comical.
The try we scored in both those games came off grubber kicks, yet we didnt go back to it again in either match.

Admittedly our attack was stunted last year with Perritt at fullback and JMoz and Hokko hopping around on one leg.
2012 was a missed opportunity.
