It's not a question of if there is any it's a question of how do we stop it.

1. Tass puts hand into touch. Penalty Souths
2. Head Clash. Penalty Souths
3. Waddell Suffers high tackle then interfered on play the ball. Knock on Dogs.
4. Latrell smacks fox trying to stop him running past in try scoring opportunity. Latrell not sin binned.
5. Walker palms Flange in the face. Ref apologises to Cody that kyle mocked him.
6. Blatant strip on Marshall King 3 in tackle. Dogs knockon.
7. TPJ knocks the arm without touching the ball from marker, TPJ knock on.

Getting walked back 12-15 metres so they can let Souffs play touch football.
Tough 50/50's for shit that we invariably cop throughout most of any given contest.
Ref is constantly calling our players out of tackles, calling to release before tackles completed and when Souffs purposefully gameplanned to put pressure on us coming out of our own end by slowing the ptb down and jumping the gun in defense the ref is a mute.

I'm sick of oh they gave their all, they're building well, how about just for a novel idea the referee let's a team exert score pressure instead of bringing teams back into games with nefarious penalties.

When's it gunna turn around or what do we have to do to force the turn around.

Over it!

I don't know how other teams fare against Souths, but we haven't once been given a fair go against them since before the bottle throwing incident.
I swear! Ever since that incident our luck with the refs turned to shit!

We will never....we just have to be good enough that the ref bias doesn't stop us from winning. Play harder and faster. The refs and media have never liked us.

A few things that will help reduce the bias against us;
- having a better captain that questions the referee appropriately in a 'respectful' manner
- having a superstar player, it helps for teams like Souths with Lattrell or Roosters with Teddy - refs will have an unconscious bias geared towards those players getting the 50/50 calls (more like 25/75)
- start winning more games - as above, same applies to refs unconscious bias towards winning teams

In saying that, we as a team need to do better in overcoming these challenges during a game ie. if Waddell gets hit in the jaw and doesnt get the penalty, it's not going to help us when he mopes for a few minutes and Souths go in and score down his edge.

+ you can probably add JMK's play in the first half while we lost a challenge to it, I thought JMK did not touch the ball and played at Havili's arm.

It's true.

The only way will be to be great winners or get a car yard millionaire, Broncs Murdoch, movie star owner or Casino ex-owner or Saudi race horse prince (but only if he has access to car yard paper bags) :grinning:

Or Entertainers and Dogs of War combined so that we can take the ref and media bias out of the equation....this will happen!

We need our players to get acting lessons and stay down. If doesn't usually get the bunker to intervene now but if we do it evety time, surely with the big screen replays, we'll get at least ONE foul play penalty :grinning:

Bombard the 'contact us' at the bottom of the NRL website with your frustrations, sometimes you just gotta spell it out.
The only way to beat a ref is another try.

I'm glad I'm not watching anymore. If we lose we lose, but if we're copping a steady stream of bad calls I get really pissed off. I used to watch 3 or more games most weekends, but I started seeing that the refereeing always favours one team strongly. You watch some games where a shit team beats premiership threats by virtue of getting every call from refs and even then it pissed me off. Seems like a ploy to take money off gamblers.

I've said already this week that I think the refs are working towards getting the ideal result for our gambling partner. And the last few years of seeing what I suspect were refs helping to fix matches has me at the point where I'd almost be happy if the game died.

Given that we have one of the biggest fanbases and many people have an emotional bet (still betting even if we're unlikely to win) I think stop betting on us. If all the money is on our opponents and my suspicions are right it takes away the motive for refs to shit on us.

My hope at the time that Gould joined us was that he'd be outspoken against the bias against us. It really seems like he's not willing to say a thing though.

You should watch bro, dogs are playing a great brand of football. Only a matter of time before we are challenging again

We got plenty of shit calls but we were still up 6 with 10 to go. We shouldn't have lost, let alone lost by 8. We need to overcome errors or bad calls better. We need more leadership out on the field. It'd help if four Bulldogs players didn't just avoid the ball in the air for one of their last tries. Shit like that has nothing to do with bad calls.

Both tries from kicks were hopefully a learning experience for Avo. He has been great since he has moved to FB but he is still hesitant in a few areas. It was good to see him use his pace around the rucks with some scoots from dummy half yesterday. Got us on the front foot.

Yeah the first try for Ilias was inexcusable. Averillo was there first but didn't put his body on the line to knock the ball dead or get in front of Ilias. He just stood there. It was Dufty/Meaney-esque in terms of avoiding contact. He's been good til this point and is still learning but he needs to get to those balls and show more urgency.

Jackson as a captain is such a bad appointment, however I have no idea who could captain in our side. Is Burton assertive, and more so would I want him to have the pressure. I'd give Kikau or Mahoney the captaincy next season. Both come from more successful systems especially Kikau.

Jacko has always been too quiet as a captain. Ennis used to be up the refs ass with every decision they made, so they’d be more afraid of making shit calls against us.

not only that, the loss of the captains challenge early last night proved important. It feels like Jackson just listens to our other players too much when they ask for him to challenge and he doesn’t make the decision for himself. He’s gotta be more on the ball with that because it’s so vital with how many shit calls we get against us

Rabbits haven’t lost a penalty count since Russell Crowe took over.
Round 6 Souffs had more conceded penalties than us

Though we copped the bin when we were leading them Cook torched us to effectively end the contest
