Hi
There's 2 full stops in his post which seems quite excessive. And it could have BeNeFiTtEd FrOm ThIs KiNd Of StYlE. If not that, bolding with caps lock on would have expressed the point better. But I can't leave this alone just yet.

"THEY RECKON HOUDINI WAS PRETTY GOOD AT UNDOING LOCKS SURELY GUS COULD SPARE A FEW BUCKS AN GET HIM ON COACHING STAFF MIGHT BE OUR ONLY HOPE. "

Gus is a fucking recruitment guru beyond compare if he resurrects Houdini to join the coaching staff. Would resurrection officially grant Gould God status?

"BUT REALY I WOULD JUST LOVE TO SEE HIM RUN THE BALL MORE AND HAVE A DIG TAKE THE LINE ON PRETTY WELL WHAT EVERYONE WANTS FROM A HALF."

Burton absolutely should have a dig. If the re-animated corpse of Houdini will get him to reach his potential, digging up a body 98 years dead should be a part of his training schedule. Gould should save his energy for the resurrection process.

No offence intended BULLDOGS CRADLE TO GRAVE. But when potential comedy situations arise I have to take them. I'm sorry if you have caps lock stuck on. Seems like it's possible given the all caps user name.
His name to post content absolutely checks out though

One thing stood out for me was when we received penalties he gained 10 or 15 metres from his kicks, last night Mitchell, was gaining 25 to 30 metres! Burton, has a bigger boot then Mitchell, and we were in desperate need of getting more ground advantage from those kicks, yet he makes no effort of kicking the ball longer, he’s whole game at the moment seems to be lackadaisical, for me his best position is punting for an NFL team!

AFL players do 60m kicks. Burton wouldn’t make a women lingerie gridiron team. I want Burton dropped permanently and never brought back until we dump him off to another team

Can anyone tell me in 1998 when our little 5/8 Craig polla-mounter went on a tear and won 4 finals games in a row who his halfback was? And memory serves me correctly we did not have a monster forward pack.

So just about every “expert” and NRL analyst in the game is calling for him to be moved to centre now. Brad Fittler, Cameron Smith, Laurie Daley, Greg Alexander, Braith Anasta, Mathew Johns, Mark Geyer. FFS just move him already!
If they do move him it will reflect poorly on them because it will prove they made a massive mistake is recruiting him, paying overs and sticking with him even though he's been abysmal.

Every year we have a player sucking up the cap and underperforming, when I thought we got rid of the last in TPJ...here we are.

Burton is worth the money he is on just that he is playing in the wrong position.
Centre or I would love to see him play fullback.

We always have at least a few. No coach can seem to get their best form out of any of them for more than 2-3 games a season.

Burto should be given a few more weeks but if we starve Critta of ball, and start making him look like a mug, then it says a lot about how the team is coached. It can't be allowed to happen.

Cmon guys.
Laurie Daley, Brad Fitter, Greg Alexander, Andrew Johns. No idea. They can't coach a state team full of talent, now you want to take on value their opinion. Matty Johns, he's a comedian, never coached. Mark Geyer ditto. Braith Anasta, the guy can barely commentate. I'm surprised no one mentioned the DT crews opinion on Matt Burton's best position. I think I'm going to back CCs opinion on this one. I mean the guy is the head coach.
Wait - we should definitely take Fittler’s opinion on board as to who is best to play centre - last year he played Damien Cook at centre in Origin, NSW lost the series and he then lost his job. Case closed :-).

Yup don’t need the best half or 5/8 but need a side that’s well balanced, works together and gets the most out of every player in every position.
No excuses CC and Gus

IMO if we are to persist with Burton at 5/8 for now until we gain momentum we should play him on the right side in attack,
ATM he is slowing down what can be lethal, our left side attack.

In the interview Ciraldo said "he's the 5/8 for now."

Sounds like the Matt Burton 5/8 experiment is just about over anyway...

I don’t worship any of the “experts” opinions either but it’s rare you get pretty much all of them saying the same thing.

You don’t have to like them but at least consider that they might know a thing or two about rugby league that us shmucks don’t

In all honesty I can see CC and Gus building that mentality again... even when Cam talks u can see it. We are moving towards that Melbourne, that Roosters, that Panthers, that Ricky and Raiders style mentality that u fight for every inch when its time to switch on.

This is why I don't understand why people keep dissing the build.. I think everybody is just too focused on the cattle, the injuries and the style rather than building a system and having the players buy into it.

I have faith that corner isn't far.. I just hope the squad keeps pushing towards it.

Back on a serious note...
Does anyone think what I am thinking, Gus has already resurrected Houdini amongst all the Utes he had signed but still waiting for CC to activate him ?

Have some faith in the process mate...
Burton isn't producing well atm, he might not make the cut as a 5/8 but he is an extremely talented footballer,
Time will prove if he will or will not be a 5/8.

We are missing quality in the 2 most important positions in the team
Props that could deliver a punch in the middle of the opposition's defense,
Halfback the can place uncertainties in the opposition's defense and also create better attack,
As a result I believe we are running on approximately 25% of our potential attack !
