If we want to turn things around some tough decisons need to be made for 2011. It's great to have forward depth, however all of these guys are workers and offer very little impact, We need to release at least 5 of the following 10 players and attempt to buy another 2 quality forwards that add some mongrel to the pack.

MICHAEL HODGSON
YILEEN GORDON
CHRIS ARMIT
DENE HALATAU
GARY WARBURTON
COREY PAYNE
BRAD MORRIN
DANNY WILLIAMS
JARRAD HICKEY
BLAKE GREEN

When you add Ryan Stagg and new guy Tolman it is just more of the same.

Happy to lose those 6 and even Halatua and Hodgson as well. Armit and Gordon can perform when the team is traveling well but I feel the other players are just along for the ride regardless of how the team are going.

We did not need to re-sign Hodgson imo, he is past it and will be lucky to make the side next year if we are realistic, we need to blood some younger guys now and give them that taste which will only benefit next year

Gordon is the only one I'd keen on that list.

Been a bit dissapointed with Armit and yet to see much of Payne.

all of em except Buddy and Armit are free to leave
I say Armit cause he still has it in him where as Hodgo is approaching retirement but they are both similar players except armit will look for an offload at times

Yet to see anything great from Halatau except good line running if we wanted that keep warburton he runs a great line unfortunately neither of them have the ability to break it

you niff nuffs have no clue who are trying to get rid of Brad Morrin.

you are getting a true bulldog who has shown lot of grunt in his runs this season and always put his heart on his sleeve when ever he gets a chance and that too on 70ks/ year.

its a bargain you fools!

Just because something is cheap doesn't mean it's a bargain.
I'm not questioning the blokes heart because we know he puts in the hard yards. The fact is that he is a fringe first grader and we are chock full of those, (Success in NSW Cup). We need exceptional first graders not more of the same, otherwise expect to have seasons like this year.

problem is mate why waste the space?better to bring up a young juniour who MAY develop into a good FG player than Morrin who is known only to be a NSW cup player

most other clubs dont have the depth of forwards that we have, but i notice that they usually have a better pack in gerenal.

i used to think that it was probably a good thing to have a bunch of guys like morrin, armit, hickey, d williams etc about as fowards are always going to get injured and you need to cover it... but im starting to feel that we probably should go for a few very high quality players and if trouble strikes promote some young guys and hope for the best.

yep, they will be raw and probably not as good initially as the 2nd stringers who can step up and fill in... but it bloods them for the future, costs us less cash and who knows, they may just step up like the juniors at other clubs have this season and become regular FGers.

given the above, us having such a good NSW cup team may not be such a good thing. alot of those guys are relics that we need to cut from the club all together. im talking about the types of guys who are taking up cash but will never be real consistent first graders.

basically, we have too many aging fringe players in that NSW cup side and we need to take the broom to it - imo.

We may have the depth but alot of them are out of there in element in the top grade, we have the worst pack in the NRL and we need to get back to the forwards that have been associated with this club since the 80's.

imo, the best player in that list is Armit... other than him, tbh, i wouldnt mind seeing the rest piss off... Gordon is good, but he's too lazy and cant play big mins

Most of them should be let go for sure.

Next step would be to buy someone that is going to be a standout performer for a change (and preferably doesn't get homesick)

the only way to have a dominant forward pack is for the players to have passion in the jersey. doesn't matter who you sign unless they've come up through the ranks that passion won't always be there. that's how we've always won the comp
