Meanwhile, Raiders flyer Adrian Purtell has agreed to a two-year deal with Penrith after being granted a release from the final two years of his contract last week.
The 24-year-old will join former teammate Nigel Plum and coach Matt Elliott at the foot of the mountains. He will put pen to paper late this week when he returns from an end-of-season trip to Mexico with Kangaroos discard Joel Monaghan.
Just 18 months ago, Purtell was in high demand with premiers Melbourne Storm circling, but was convinced by coach David Furner to remain in the nation's capital on a three-year deal.
Purtell joins Panthers recruits Daine Laurie and Kevin Kingston.

Good signing. He would have cost very little and in 08 was really good for Canberra. He should slot right into the centres or on the wing.

Graham and Coote are so overated its not funny.
The way the CH 9 commentators wrap them is ludicrous..

Coote is a good play, he is just so tiny but. Graham im yet to see anything from, is only 18 but so gotta give him time. Everyone expects the world from these young kids. Look at Mitchell Pearce, i actually think he's a good player and will go far but he's been heaped with everything over there.

Yeah it's not the greatest and next year they probably wouldn't do better than 6th or 7th at best. I don't even think they'll make the 8 but everything is so even now anything can happen.

If Pritchard can stay healthy for once and put it together for more than 120 minutes a season like he does then they can go well. And if Lewis is healthy again he makes a huge difference.

It's a solid team and if they compete as well as they did almost every game this season next season and stay injury free they'll likely sneak into the 8.

Kingston is a fair buy for them IMO.

Agreed. Good hooker with good speed.

And Mitch, the only think I'd change in your team is Tighe and Purtell to swap and Masada Iosefa to the bench in place of Romelo.

Sammut is terrible. He's a walking brain explosion and doesn't think at all. He's a rich mans Roy Bell and I don't mean that as a compliment.

I honestly think that that is not a bad side. They will cause alot of problems in 2010. I think they could make top 8 without much problem.
