Someone spray painted the bridge. Yeah it's not the worst crime in the world but it is still a crime. The A League is hardly thriving. The odd game between cross town rivals gets a crowd, TV ratings are poor, and most Australians couldn't name all the teams yet alone even a handful of players. If anything they should be happy that A League got a mention on the news - maybe that will remind some people it still exists.
Its a World War 1 memorial said bridge

Gus is shook by the world game, just pushing his employers agenda. League isn't going to last with the way concussions are heading and will be overtaken by football even with the absolute monkeys running he came here in Australia.

Isn't there a move to have headers banned due to the brain injury concerns? There are several studies that have shown that frequently heading of the ball is a greater risk of brain damage than infrequent head collisions. U12's aren't allowed to head the ball in many competitions, how long till it spreads to all players?

Yes. They have a problem. Can't see rugby league lasting much more than another ten years. 20 max. Once ex-players start suing, that will be it. NRL has bluffed it's way through legal liability so far, but eventually there will be a lawyer or two who will find a way through.

I'm surprised the suing's not happening a fair bit already. I can't believe it's just the NRLs bluff that's holding lawyers and affected players back though.

NFL players have been suing the NFL for decades and the NFL is still going. That's under a legal system, in the US, the home of litigation, where sympathetic juries award $millions as there are no compensation caps like there are here. As long as the NRL can prove that they have taken steps, which they have over the years, then the risk is well mitigated.

Its a lot easier to remove headers from soccer than it is to remove contact from Rugby League.

It's possible to play football without heading a ball. Can't say the same for League about collisions.

And if the players don’t want to take the risk then choose another career path

James McManus, the ex Knights winger, took the Knights to court over its handling of concussion later in his career. Apparently, the Knights defence was that the risk to McManus was obvious and any claim should be waived. The court ruled in favour of the Knights, which could prove to be a deterrent to other players considering legal action.
