Would be no protection bullshit if I had my way, throw them to the wolves like everybody else and they can fend for themselves.

Our justice system is so beyond pathetic it's incredible. Only just found out the other day that the bloke who stabbed the paramedic 43 times outside McDonalds a year or two ago got no jail time due to the mental illness excuse. Crazy or not just end them, they are never going to offer anything to society and a just a taxpayer drain. And heaven forbid if he ever gets let out of his mental institution.

On any level thats wrong and society is getting too weird like in the UK

Posters saying "It's okay to be white" have sparked a police investigation.
Hampshire Constabulary was alerted to the posters by a resident on Thursday and said they were being treated as a "hate incident"

I hope we never follow the UK they're PC mad

But IMO why should predators and sick people like that be protected whereas some bloke who is in jail for something so measly as not paying fines for instance is thrown in with general population?
Once you abuse a child it should be open season on you in the prison system.

Yeah, the bleeding hearts would change their tune if it was one of their loved ones that got butchered at the hands of a mentally unstable person. Or one that gets let back out into the population after committing such evil.

I advocate for an entire revision and overhaul of the legal system, from the top down.
It does not represent most of the population, and obfuscates issues like both that you have mentioned above further than they already are!

Something to ponder; what's one's tough love, is another's abuse, and the law's interpretation of both views differs entirely to any sane and reasonable adult!

How about they serve time in a mental health facility, with a minimum given time, and when sane, depending on the nature of the crime and the mental health issue, then serve time in a correctional facility?
With that, a new form of correctional facility is established.
One that affords a place for those that have committed a crime, yet are fresh out of a mental health hospital, so they do not regress into their former unstable mental state.
