MANLY back-rower Glenn Stewart has officially been pushed out of Brookvale after signing a new deal with South Sydney.

The Rabbitohs announced the massive signing a few moments ago.
After eight months of negotiations, Manly, in the end, never even made Stewart an offer.
Further details of Stewart’s new deal at Redfern will be known in the next hour or so.
The question now is whether brother Brett will ask Manly for a release. Brett Stewart has constantly stated he would never play against Glenn.
Souths last week secured Penrith and former NSW prop Tim Grant.
The Rabbitohs have some money in their cap with the imminent departure of Sam Burgess. Rumours continue Ben Teo may return to Brisbane.

Sounds like a desperate signing after they missed out on multiple players.

Stewart is massively injury prone and ageing. Souths are on a downwards hill now and probably missed their opportunity at a premiership over the last couple of years.

Letting Glen go and re-signing Hiku, does that mean Brett is on the outer?

Where will Brett Stewart play for them though? I thought if the Stewarts split up, half of Manly was departing?

OR was that paper BS yet again?

That's a bit harsh. They have GI, solid halves and a decent hooker.

They're always in the running.

He is good if fit, I wonder what will happen to Brett and the rest of Manly now?

Most clubs have some solid players, even some superstars e.g Inglis at the bunnies, Slater at the Storm, but that doesn't cut it anymore. The game has changed and the salary cap has created an even more level playing field than the one that existed 4 - 5 years ago when the Storm were sneaking their way around it. As a result they lost a number of players that mean they are no longer consistent front runners.
