We are back to roughly where we should be. Around 12th place. Maybe climb a couple more places if we are lucky. No chance of Top 8 though.
Knights have had their bye. Our bye will add another two points to our table, and we have a better for and against than them.
Depending on our next few games, 12th is possible.

I'm just happy we are winning games and that the players are happy, where that gets us can only be good going forward.

Even if we lose it won't be as bad mentally if the players continue to put in effort and the loses are a result of playing the top tier teams.

Anyone outside the top 8 and we have a good shot at 2 points no doubt in my mind, top 8 teams and our chances have to be better now.

Based nrl table of 2021 titans claimed 8th spot on 22 points ,10 wins.
We need maybe 24 points to sneek in.
7 wins out of remaining 9 games we play we need to win .
Never say never

Has anyone noticed that we are playing faster and looking fitter playing out the full 80 mins? Harry Potter has put the broomstick through Barrett's strategies and game plan.

We are much much more disciplined (ok TPJ may of once stuffed up yesterday) which will happen but the mentality of being disciplined all over the park is getting rewards.

We are not lying around the ruck trying to slow play the balls down, we are not stupidly trying to take guys out unnecessarily, we are tackling ensuring we aren't going high etc etc. Harry Potter has planted a spell on the players to be more disciplined and if we do that we aren't tackling all game and we are fresher for when we have the ball. Isn't that showing ten fold?

We can all see Harry Potter has thrown out the spell book and are letting the players play more freely. They are enjoying themselves, they are smiling and they certainly don't look like they are playing with fear of playing outside the game plan like they were with Barrett.

Andrew Jones asked during the coverage, can the Bulldogs start thinking of making the finals?

That's the best thing you have said Joey.

For the Dogs to make top 8, the following key games need to pan out (first some assumptions made):
1) Dogs win all remaining games, except lose away to Eels
2) Storm and Panthers win all remaining games
3) Teams playing each other at the bottom of table - home teams win (I.e. Knights v Titans etc)
4) Teams in the top 8 currently beating teams in bottom of the table (eg Rabbits beating Knights away)
5) Remaining games - all home teams win, except the following per round

Round 15
Cowboys beat Manly away
Eels beat Roosters at home

Round 18
Cowboys beating Sharks at home
Roosters beating Dragons at home

Round 19
Dragons beating Many at home

Round 20
Cowboys beating Dragons away

Round 21
Broncos beating Roosters away
Eels beating Manly away

Round 22
Eels beating Rabbits at home
Cowboys beating Roosters away

Round 23
Manly beating Sharks at home

Round 24
Raiders beating Manly at home
Cowboys beating Rabbits away

Round 25
Roosters beating Rabbits at home

As long as the above happens, any other game doesn’t really matter, Dogs will finish 8th by 2 points. Any change in the above could be a shootout on point difference

Hence why we need to keep winning and keep winning big

It’s a long shot, but yes, it is mathematically possible

If you look at our remaining games, all games are winnable, with tricky games being Sharks home and away, Cowboys at home, Eels away and Sea Eagles at home

Another thing that I love, that I realised today, we're playing for the full 80! How good is that? Yesterday we just kept coming. Knocking on the door all game long and by the 60th minute we knocked the **** down and had our way with dem pussies haha. As Potsy said, keeping the opposition down their end, has a residual effect late in the game. All that defence on their tryline in the first half took so much out of them. It was disappointing to only get to half time with 2 tries, but the damage was done to their energy reserves and we cashed in late in the game.

And not just Knights. Our f/a is actually good compared to most teams in the bottom 8. If we keep playing like we have, it'll only improve too.

It's an interesting point, but I think we need to thank the current level of referee tolerance for this turnaround.

The refs have relaxed the 6-again calls of late and it has benefited us greatly.

We are traditionally a team that relies on slowing the tempo of a game but at the sane time, we cop alot of penalties and 6-agains.

Some leeway by the refs as well as some improvement in our attitude has changed things to our advantage.

Sure we copped alot of penalties against the Eels but we played too well to allow it to influence the result.

I agree - I think Guss joining us must have had an impact. He has a lot of influence and we were being smashed with 6 agains at a time where we were still trying to get our combinations to click.

The refs have backed off the nonsense of punishing teams on the 4th and 5th tackle a six again when their arm is locked in the player's arms about to play the ball, or struggle to get off a player who is wriggling violently like a dying fish below them and even holding them down. The amount of times it was obvious teams were milking and getting away with it was disgusting and ruining the game.

The refs lack of empathy for players trying to tackle and get off the man in a timely manner was most evident with the Dogs - with my bias eyes maybe. But it was consistent, game after agame. This has recently stopped after Potter publicly said, our discipline is our first focus - I noticed an immediate effort by the players and this has shifted the perception of the refs with us. They are, to an extent, becoming more balanced.
