FLANNO LINKED TO SHARKS RETURN

Unwanted Bulldogs playmaker Kyle Flanagan could be in line for a Cronulla comeback.

With concerns over the fitness of Matt Moylan and Shaun Johnson’s season finished the Sharks are short of playmaking depth and are said to be contemplating a loan move for the No. 7 among a host of other targets.

“A week ago the Sharks were linked with a handful of halves – Sean O’Sullivan at the Warriors and Billy Waters of the Tigers,” Read told Triple M.

“They were on their radar when they had some problems in the halves and lacked a bit of depth. They’ve got some guys out injured.

“There’s another name that has appeared on the radar of the Sharks – Kyle Flanagan.

“He’s not getting a game at Canterbury, he’s a former Shark and his dad was the coach there.

“Don’t be surprised if his name is discussed by the club if they have more problems in the halves.

“I’m not saying it will happen but they are looking at potential alternatives if they lose another half.”

Hope they lose another half. Yes happy to loan him. First month free then 2 years at 50% discount.

Serious though. He needs game time to practice his skills. Better off him playing for them than not playing at all + if we save even a dollar off our cap we can use towards next year somehow it's worth it.

Honestly a change of environment could be just want he needs. We will still need backup halves. And I think a lot of you forget how good we was before he had to step up at the Roosters to FG. He was killing the lower grades till that point. He may amount to nothing more than a top reserve grade player who can't make that step up. But given his youth. It'd be stupid to just discard him. He has no confidence, like most of our team. Next year will be different when their is a lot more competition for spots.
