OFFICIAL | PRE-GAME Finals Week 1 | vs Manly | 4:05pm Sunday @ Accor

Going to take some time to process that.

I never felt safe even when we were up by 10 and had the momentum. You can just never count DCE out, his game management is second to none and when it mattered most he did what he always does. Same with Turbo, plays with one arm dangling and still produces the clutch play.

I see all the referee complaints and honestly I don’t get it. People saying the NRL wanted Manly to win - why? We would have had a sellout next week against the Roosters and the whole comp would be buzzing about us. No-one cares about Manly except the people living in a single suburb. Yes some of the calls were line ball but that’s how it goes, I didn’t think any of them were outright wrong calls really. We should have won that game but poor discipline and poor game management at the clutch moments cost us.

We desperately need a great halfback. Sexton was good but simply not good enough. How we didn’t control that game is beyond my understanding. I’m nice again Kiraz didn’t help though. If he catches those very shallow bombs we win by twenty.

The one where he dropped it, i was screaming at the TV, just let them catch it.
He tries for a hero catch, drops it and Manly score off the scrum.
Absolute bottle job

well that's me done going to games ever again, clearly I'm bad luck considering every game I've been to over the last 5 years we've lost

Sexton died in the arse as soon as the article about contract talks came out. Bottled his season hard.

Is it time to get rid of Reed Mahoney & play Jablowme at hooker? Has Reed been stamped like Corey Hughes that anything that looks like something gets penalised?

That forward pass wasn’t line ball

I love Morrin's heart but I said to my missus when he came on that I shit myself whenever Morrin plays his 15 minutes as he usually has a shocking error or two. A few minutes later he did that.. It's not his fault we lost, but he made yet another untimely mistake in the biggest game we've had had in years. We need to bolster our pack so we're not relying on undersized forwards like him to make an impact.
We have some good ones coming through but years away.

How is a torp low percentage? When he's put them up in the past it barely ends up well for us, penalty against us due to an offside player, out on the full or a.player gets too excited and staggers the line and gives the other team a lane to run through, nothing wrong with what he's doing now, keep the torp for desperate times.
Both of your comments aged well mate.

With Mahoney he's a repeat offender that drives people crazy. While I've vented about a few players I agree for the most part that it achieves nothing and despite the pain and frustration, we should be positive about the season we've had and the signs that are there for the future.
Yeah, he’s frustrating, no doubt… but most of us would have taken a finals berth at the start of the year. It’s something to build on.

Gutted but what an improvement. One of those games when the better team lost, 50:50 calls went against us & Manly scored with limited opportunties.
The dogs hopefully learnt a lesson to keep artacking plays for the entire 80 minutes. Skelton did well but made two errors in defense. The first try coming in when crichton had his man covered, the last when he should have com in, Sexton was never in position to make the tackle.

I was at the game observing Skeleton on that last try. You could tell he fell back as Manly were still within their 40 on the 5th and he thought Cherry might go 40/20. Many saw the gap down that side and ran through the hole.

Manly try on half time was utter tripe!! Other then that i have no complaints. But that cost us the game. There's no conspiracy, just poor refereeing.
