My interpretation of that lyric is.
We have all felt like that in our lives, where everything feels hopeless, when you feel like you finally worked your way through somthing difficult, and you think you finally did it, you can see the light, you get your hopes up.
Then oh no Wrong.
you find out that your still fucked.

I think that is one hell of a song lyric.
