Dumped Warriors centre Vinnie Anderson is trying to come to terms with his shock departure.

Two weeks ago the Kiwi international was told by club CEO Mick Watson it would be in his best interests to go overseas because he was not needed by the Warriors any more.

Anderson still had a year left on his contract with the NRL club, but Warriors bosses effectively made up his mind for him when they presented him with a contract to play for the Bradford Bulls in the Super League.

Anderson rejected that, and has signed a three year contract with the London Broncos, and leaves on Wednesday with an eye to playing in a Super League match on Friday.

He says he desperately wanted to stay with the Warriors this season, and was dedicated to performing well this year as well as looking forward to lining up alongside Ruben Wiki and Steve Price.

He had one year left on his contract, and obviously the Warriors thought that he might leave in the future, so they have forced him to go now.

Anderson says he was keen to go overseas in a year, but is now trying to come to terms with the fact that he has been pushed.

He says he has some very close friends at the Warriors and he has enjoyed the ups and downs.

While he is disappointed, he has to stop looking back, and start thinking about his future in London.

The Warriors are staying quiet over the whole saga.

The Positive out of this: more money for Vinnie

the Negative: will that extra money make him happy??
or will he die regretting and wondering what he may of become if he looked elsewhere within the NRL?

The Warriors rugby league club has shown Kiwi centre Vinnie Anderson the door, at the same time preventing him from going to any other NRL club.

Anderson, 26, on Monday signed a three-year deal with the London Broncos and will fly out on Wednesday and play against Salford on Friday night England time, leaving his wife and two children behind.

He said he was unhappy he would not see out the remaining year on his Warriors contract and had been looking forward to playing with younger brother Louis, who has two years left on his deal.

"I'm sorry I'm not going to be at the Warriors," Anderson said.

"I didn't want to go. I had a very positive meeting with (club chief executive) Mick Watson in January and I told him I wanted to be part of the success I felt the Warriors would have this season.

"I was looking forward to learning from Ruben Wiki and Steve Price.

"Then three weeks later Watson came to me with a contract offer from Bradford, after Shontayne Hape did his knee, and advised me to take it.

"He said I might only get a couple of games this year and then I'd struggle to get another NRL club in 2006."

Anderson said he started looking around and on Monday signed with London, who have picked up a fistful of NRL players this season, among them former Warriors Mark Tookey and Thomas Leuluai, who was pushed out in similar fashion to Anderson.

Departing Warrior Vinnie Anderson believes his decision to play for the Kiwis league team at the end of last year has cost him his place at the Warriors.

Anderson has been released by the Warriors and leaves for the UK on Wednesday to take up a deal with the London Broncos.

The Warriors are refusing to comment on the matter.

However Anderson says it is clear the Warriors did not want him to tour with the Kiwis.

He says things were not too smooth after he returned from the tour, with club officials unhappy with him for travelling with the Kiwis.

Anderson says the Warriors made it clear, if he toured he would find to hard to get back into the NRL team.

He says he was willing to take the risk, because playing for his country means a lot to him.

Meanwhile, Anderson's agent is reacting angrily to talk his client was asked to leave the Warriors over injury issues.

It has been suggested Anderson toured with the Kiwis injured, with the Warriors wanting him to stay here and recover.

Agent Jim Banaghan says talk of any injury problems is completely wrong.

Banaghan says the injury has not affected Anderson at all, so it is not a cause for his departure.

He says Vinnie Anderson was cleared by a specialist and the Warriors to tour last year and is fully fit for the year ahead.

Meanwhile, the NZRL is concerned to hear the Warriors might be trying to hold back their players from playing for the Kiwis.

NZRL boss Selwyn Pearson says that if this is happening, the future for the Kiwis looks bleak.

Pearson says perhaps they should just ring the international federation and say they cannot stump up anymore.

He says the Warriors pay their players, they are their employers, but they cannot prohibit a player representing their country.

Pearson says he needs to sit down with Warriors CEO Mick Watson and discuss the matter.

And the CEO of Anderson's new club in London, Nic Cartwright, says as far as they are concerned he is ready to play this weekend.

Cartwright says the first priority will be to make sure Vinnie Anderson is comfortable in his new environment.

He says Anderson will probably stay with another new Kiwis recruit Thomas Leuluai, before they play in a few days.

Mick's seriously done himself some bad PR cos everybody's siding with Vinnie. And for Vinnie to miss out on all the good stuff comin' up- stink. We'll see if Mick supports the Kiwis by making Warriors players avilable for the Anzac test.....
