Official Dogs sign Leo Thompson (2026)

agree...Gus needs to pull the trigger and get the deal done. Fuk this not paying overs. Sometimes u need to pay up to secure talent

Some players you might need to pay overs for. Thompson is NOT one of those players.

Would he improve our team? YES
Would I like him to join our team? YES

Both questions above are more a reflection of our current quality NRL ready middles. More than how good Thompson is. He is better than what we currently have. But nowhere near that much better that you pay overs for him.

Can’t be bothered reading through 52 pages to see if it’s been said, but fuck me the Tongans owned this bloke in the test series. He was rubbish and in effective
Seen him get smashed by defenders a couple of times. One of them is featured in the NRL ad for Las Vegas I think. I'd prefer at least one bigger body monster metre eater

I honestly thought he'd go even harder in the series as he is on the market. Was meh at best.

Breaking newsss leo thompson set to meet with the greenacre tigers to discuss a massive 3.6 million dollars worth of kebabs and acai over the next 3 years now in front leading as favourites knew we will never sign this bloke another one Missed gus

we don't need to get into a bidding war but we need to at least make a competitive offer. We are not the Storm where players will sign for unders to play for a premiership winning club
We have a group of professionals that estimate a player's value and make an offer accordingly, bare in mind there's always the possibility of stretching that offer just little.

Thompson seems pretty unlikely reading between the lines I have to say. No chance we pay that kind of money for him.

What I’d love to know is the real story behind not signing May. We literally had a top class front rower with a tonne of upside available, plenty of cap space, an obvious need for an enforcer in the front row and he was available for THIS season. Literally fell right into our laps and we just decided ‘nahhhh we good’. Surely there has to be more to it than him being a lazy trainer. It’s beyond bizarre and if he kills it at the Tigers it’ll make us look pretty silly.
Agreed and there must be more to may to make gus withdraw interest
