Not sure if I would want him at our club he hasn't changed is attitude, I would say if we were to pay him BIG money then why not top up Barbas contract, we all know money is the issue and not relocating to Brisbane?

Are we saying the current Daily M player of the year is worth less than Dugan, I certainly think Barba is worth 10 Dugans .. even though his attitude this year has been a let down, on his game and clear head space he would destroy most comers

But if Folau did choose to return then end of discussion, he would be a perfect fit for Barba

Only 2 players i would be happy with = falau or dugan, Dugans one of the best fullbacks in the game atm.

From our CEO:
''We obviously have an issue with Barba so we would be mad not to ask the question. That's as far as it's got.' = Barba is gone

yes the current dally m winner is worth less than dugan

and also signing dugan is one thing and upgrading barba is another, there is obviously some resistance to giving him that upgrade

i speculate it could be a number of things, like hasler realising he is a showpony and not worth it or that barbas attitude has meant that other players have recommended that they dont upgrade

People read into things too much.

Castle is simply stating that obviously the club has an issue with Barba (i.e an issue if Barba asks for a release).

Barba has not asked for a release, but the club would be absolutey foolish not to cover their arse in the instance that they don't offer him a contract upgrade, and Orr has an agreement ready to be signed with the Broncos.

Wouldn't be the first time Proszenko (sp) has fluffed up an article over nothing.

well what you can read into it is that if barba does ask for a release we will give it, at least if we secure dugan

also that the club thinks and has thought for a few months now that there is a good chance he will ask for the release

How about Kevin Locke who will be off contract with the Warriors in 2014? IMO he is ia top fullback with no bad history and no mega price tag.

Dugan is a good footy player, but all the other sh*t he brings with him just aint worth the trouble.
Hope Barba stays and sorts everything out with the ex. Best solution.

Why aren't we enquiring about Locke? If they have signed Tompkins, Locke isn't required over there.

2 things.

1. What happens if the Dogs sign Dugan and Barba doesn't even ask for a release ?
2. Why don't we just sign the whole NZ national team ?

I hope something gets sorted. Imagine a scenario where Barba leaves and we dont sign a replacement, that will be shite!

Seems pretty certain we have Barba til the end of 2015 and also seems certain the Dragons will retain Dugan.

Sounds like the Dogs have told Benny if we can secure a specialist fullback from outside the club we can release you at the end of 2013. If we dont sign anyone, you will be staying. I also think Ben would be OK with that.

What a situation.

You would think Dugan would want to show some loyalty to the Dragons for giving him a go, like Carney has with the Sharks.

I agree. This seems like the likely scenario. Hopefully Dugan comes across. We dont want someone at the club whose heart is not in it and who doesnt want to be here.
SBW anyone?

If our offer is close to the Dragons offer, Dugan would be mad to not come to the Bulldogs.
But then again, he is mad - lol

This article contains NO NEW SOURCES! It's just a mash-up of crap that's already been used over the last week but the journo has shaped it to look like Dugan could be at the dogs next year.

Last night on Sterlo Lara Pitt spoke to Dugan's manager and he said that they have not even been contacted by the Dogs and yet this article (which quotes no sources on the matter) states "Canterbury have made an audacious play for Josh Dugan".

Why would the manager lie? His best interest is to show St George that other clubs are also after him right?

Also the journo has taken Raelene's quotes out of context, don't fall for that crap.

Dugan will sign with the Red V it's a sure thing.

Bulldogs looking at Dugan is like me looking at Jennifer Hawkins.

In other words, I don't think Dugan will put out.
