Is it not typical of us dogs fans, someone has 1 good game and we should sign them up immediately.. a bad game, well, we all know how that turns out. Be good to have a few more fans with some idea.
I like his character, always tries hard, tackles anything that moves, decent kicking game, but he’s had plenty of time to show us what he can do and I don’t think he can deliver us the attacking consistency required at NRL level. Avo will be in the same boat if by this time next year he’s having 1 good game every 5. The elite teams have halves that are good week-in-week-out.

Unfortunately his time is up. Yes he plays better than Wakeham and Flanagan combined, but the truth is we need to aim higher. Hopefully BBO will be used in case of an injury in the halves before Wakeham and Flanagan.

No harm in extending him for 200K for 1 more year until hopefully we get someone better. Stupid to let the better half go out of the 3 we have. We'd be better off moving on Wakeham or Flanagan (who are 100% useless) and using that money to re-sign Lewis. If we had of got Johnson then I'd be all for Lewis going but we didn't did we ?.
Lewis provides a bit of unpredictability which all teams need plus a long kicking game. When our forwards fail to make decent metres out of our own end Lewis can make up for that a bit with a decent boot. With Wakeham kicking our opponents will often be playing the ball on the 2nd tackle on the halfway line. A decent boot can be like having an extra 2 tackles for field position. Each game he plays you notice him pulling of really good multiple tackles. I never want to see Wakeham or Flanagan playing first grade with us again as they offer NOTHING. Lewis aint the best but he offers "something". Something is better than nothing.
We need to keep him until we find someone actually better. Averillo doesn't get involved enough and has no passing game either. His kicks are very average. He's more a centre or winger. Lewis could relieve Burton of a bit of pressure on 5th tackle kicks. No-one else will.
