Do you reckon the players know of/read the kennel?

If I were a player, I'd read the Kennel to find out what the supporters thought about me. If I were involved in player recruitment, I would read other clubs' forums to see what they thought about players I was interested in. There are some very knowledgeable fans on these sites, who can identify a players' strengths and weaknesses as well as most first grade coaches.

When Matt Dufty signed for us, the St George fans were not sorry to see him leave, citing his terrible defence, which T-Baz had failed to notice. When he moved on to Super League, he made a comment that he was "coming for that Mutt Dafty bloke in his sleep", thereby demonstrating that he read the Kennel and knew the pen name of one of his most persistent critics.

Maybe for a laugh sometimes but I’m sure they would be constantly coached not to read what the fans are saying. I doubt we would have any players if they all read the kennel. Not a single player who hasn’t been bagged out at some stage in here….

You know what, I reckon there is quite a bit of knowledgeable shit thrown around here about the Bulldogs. If you filter out the emotional shit that is shared because of our love for the club and the parody posters, I reckon we are on point more often than not.
One time during highschool Brian Smith was at my PE class and I was kicking goals and he was extremely impressed by me. Towards the end of class he approached me and asked if I could stay back after school and train with Luke Burt. I stayed back and trained with Luke and that week he kicked at 100% Hayne and Ben Smith also dropped me off home that day. Brain Smith asked if I could return occasionally but I replied "fuck Parra you stupid old ****" and he tried to fight me but Fui Fui Moi Moi broke up the fight and I went home.

Gotta be more than coincidence that a lot of fans judgements and player assessments are subsequently proven correct ....especially now that Gus is here and good common sense and footy analyses is the criteria to clear out the roster :grinning:

Reminds me of an actual funny story that happened to my cousin (but due to my undue influence).

He's an import - migrated over here when he was 12. I introduced him to the important things in life for someone of his age; porn, super nintendo emulators and of course - the Bulldogs. At about age 14, the Eels came across to visit the school, show face bla bla bla. They were doing autograph signings with Brian Smith at the end of the line. He got a poster signed by a couple of players, came to Brian Smith and got his signature. He then proceeded it to rip the poster in Smithys face, and call out "Go tha fuckin Bulldogs".

He got detention for a week straight.
