It's possible a player or 2 might have used the current state of the team and/or Pay, to leave but I believe most of who we let go, we had to, to fix our cap issues and get funds for a rebuild.

Whether we have gone through this for nothing or not will be known soon. If we can't have a competitive side starting 2021, with the money we have to spend now, then yeh, we never will with the current staff at the club and the axe should get a workout.

The only fault to this argument is that the salary cap mess only came out after rd 8 when we were 1 and 7 or something terrible. Why didnt the club announce anything before season kick off
