Des Hasler is 6-13 in his coaching career for his team's opening game of the season.

He has lost his last 6 opening games of the season.

For such a good coaching career he has trouble getting his team motivated for their opening game.

We need to make that 7 in a row this Sunday.

Desball was only with us lol. Every other team he has coached exploded for points from anywhere on the park. Helps when you don’t Have Josh Reynolds though I guess
That's because Des can't identify attacking talent nor coach attack. He was lucky that he had dce/foran/Stewart/turbo at manly, and the titans attacking players

He thought mose mbye was a great halfback ffs

Des is a great defensive coach but that's it, he can't coach attack for shit, he needs the right players

Des has had a week to see how we play this season, so has the upper hand.

They have a big pack, one of the quickest back lines and very loose instinctive footballers in the spine.

They could easily come out full assault and put one on us if we switch off.

It’s the loose instinctive players that totally destroy out defensive structures.

Our game in defence, can defend structured football from the best teams all day. It’s when off the cuff football is played we can crumble.

Particularly playing small ball. Trying to swing momentum once we have lost traction is harder for us than most teams. If teams starts throwing it to dominate us through the middle. Our defence doesn’t hold up to eyes up footy.

Obviously when a team starts throwing it around their chances of errors grow. However as demonstrated as recently as last weekend. When the Dragons needed points and started to chance their arm. Our defensive line struggled big time.

The titans look a lot bigger threat with the ball than the Dragons.

Haslers other record is he has progressively regressed as a coach. From a 2x premiership winning coach and close to 60% win rate. To a 2x grand finalist and 57%. To a 50% and currently mid 30s%. Yes that can happen after getting sacked. You just take what’s available as a job.

Stats can show anything in a discussion. But the slide is real. And often leaves clubs in a worse place after he leaves.

It is our line speed in defence that will defeat the Titans on the weekend. A lot of passionate doggies fans on here don't seem to understand Cameron's strategy. Those players chosen are good at line speed for long periods of time. Not all are effective with the ball in hand but are responsible for opposition fans throwing fresh hot pies with their hard earned money on the back of our jerseys.

They have always had a decent squad but they suck again and again

Bulldogs strategy, first quarter is all about winning the arm wrestle and making the other team start their sets on tackle 1, 10m out from their goal line. Basically ruck it up to half way playing simple footy, so that Burton can bomb it and give kick chase enough time to whack the opposition winger as soon as he catches it. Now dominate the opposition with fast defensive line-speed and suffocate their attack. Keep doing this until the opponent is gassed.

After around 20 minutes of this, rotate the forwards, gaps start to appear in the middle of the field and we start to assert our dominance based on the hard work done earlier.

Des has had two weeks to prepare for us and get over some niggling pre-season injuries - it’ll be a tough contest but if we play fast and start fast at home behind a sell out crowd we should be ok…. The Titans are underrated with their size up front amongst the biggest in the comp and their backs amongst the quickest in the comp.
