Some positions you wouldn't even get a vote in Dally M's usually. Centres rarely do, props (except Haas, AFB). It's why they separate it, team awards are not Dally M point based. Also you have a dominant side there's only 3 players getting votes, you may have 10 blokes playing well each week why shouldn't they be the team of the year

Dally M Player of the Year means sweet fuck all tbh, if anything the player who usually wins it is because his team is a one man team and most of his teammates don’t perform well enough to ever take any points.

I’m pretty sure Nathan Cleary is yet to win a Dally M Player of the year and it’s because he plays in a complete team

Ciraldo had a whole bunch of players just starting out in their careers and took a club, which had massive internal issues(amongst the playing group) last season, to the top 8
