I suggest you visit your doctor anyway.

And even if he/she shrugs it off as nothing - visit another doctor just to make sure.

Skin conditions are the hardest to diagnose. My dad has these purple marks on his skin and he's been to so many specialists - who can't explain what it is, nor can they treat it. It's spreading all over his body.

I'm sure it's nothing, but pick up these habits as a youngster now - and it will help you if you get a serious skin lesion in future, heaven forbid.

Exactly. I wouldn't be going by the amateur opinions of those on a RL forum. You see a doctor because it's the smart thing to do.

My mum had VERY similar marks on her back which spread through her whole body. It ended up being an allergic reaction (still not known what from after 7 tests), and finding herself in hospital after almost passing away from asphyxiation.

She was in & out of hospital for 2 weeks.

This is why you see a doctor, and not ask the opinions of the average Joe.

Now, they look quite a bit like stretch marks and stretch marks on the lower back are actually common, even for males BUT stretch marks generally run directly over the spine and are symmetrical. Also, I'm not overweight, I'm not underweight and I haven't had a baby out my arsehole.

They're not sore, itchy, burning or anything. They're just there.

Interesting point. They do seem to be running along the dermatome( although the crossover of the spine kind of rules that out) Although the clinical features don't really match up.
Are they itchy man?
Have you had chicken pox?
Now if you feel them, are they flat, raise or have an indent? Any possibility of a closer picture? Any other symptoms, can you feel them at all?

For a 15 year old boy it would be a bit odd to get shingles, but nether the less not impossible. But they don't look like the precursor blisters.


From sight, id say stretch marks, however unless you have had a growth spurt recently or train, it does seem a bit odd expecially since they are so prominent- im fat and dont even have those! But growing boys often get them... And they aren't always symetrical either!
