There's also 40,000 gun deaths in America each year its a rather simple solution to fix but yet it never will be ,most of us when port auther happened said yeah banning guns is not all that terrible and for most of us it won't impact our lives, a bit like coronavirus most of us done the social distance put a mask on when needed and done the right things sacrifice a little to gain a lot. Look at Adelaide lockdown 6 days crush it get back to semi normal.
Mental health yep sure it will have an impact being a suffering from form of depression and chronic anxiety for years im actually doing good with this whole thing i may be the odd one out but a few weeks of doom and gloom lock down would be a tad more bearable than watching family members die on face time
I reckon he will need a month to get there shit under control. Not 6 days.

Dan didn't "over react" till it was well into the community, so I guess he should be congratulated for waiting?
You've got to be joking wendog, it was a massive overreaction, given that we've had 108 million deaths due to wars in the 20th century, this figure of only 800 deaths in Victoria (of those 700 in aged care facilities), it was a massive overreaction in shutting down Victoria.

It is noticeable that some people in this thread talk purely about survival rates, and don't seem to give any acknowledgement to the rapidly developing knowledge around what some are calling "long covid", which is certainly effecting previously healthy people in their 30s and 40s.

Also, does anyone else find it a bit disturbing when someone says they aren't afraid of covid because they are young and healthy, because the implication from that is that they don't give a stuff about the people around them? Seems like an alarmingly self-centred attitude.
Young and healthy doesn't mean shit. I was young, healthy and playing footy when an airborne virus hit the old ticker fucking it up completely.

Yeah true.

There's approx 900k Victorians over 65.

They've only lost 819 from C19 so far so wow I did not realise there were at least a couple of hundred thousand to go before anyone should even mildly worry about it.

I know it's burning you, just do it, blame Dan Andrews
I think he’s been horrible, but he’s in good company. Anastasia has been horrific and as has the WA premier.

there are very few politicians that have actually provided a balanced response that weighs up health risks with the need to still allow ppl fundamental human rights and the need to continue to earn a living.

and I don’t think that is a left v right argument. There have been horrible leaders on both sides of the aisle.

At the moment the only leader I like is Gladys because she doesn’t do knee jerk reactions. She’s left the border open to SA, despite most other states shutting straight away. There’s no mandate for masks and most ppl can continue with their jobs and going to church etc.

I almost got killed by an unknown virus 5 years ago and I’m extremely healthy.
Whatever I had isn’t on the charts.
They couldn’t diagnose what was wrong?
I wasn’t far off death.

Viruses don’t just effect the elderly.
No one is immune!

This current scamdemic isn’t bothering too much as I don’t buy into fear porn from mainstream media like a majority of sheeple.

Like I’ve said before, once I see streets piling up with bodies and people digging holes to make mass graves because graveyards are becoming exhausted, then and only then will I be scared like a majority of you!

Ruby princess was managed poorly agree. But since then life has been far better in NSw than perhaps any other state.

Maybe just maybe that's because of case statistics and how they're spreading.

No two responses are going to be the same.

The fact is when nsw had to go into lockdown we went into lockdown same as every other state. Our response was dependent on the number of cases not your bullshit excuses

Our health officials have managed cluster outbreaks brilliantly. If we were SA we’d have had another three lockdowns

I hear you brother, till this day they can't even tell me what virus it was that caused it, only that it was airborne.

There is a lot of scare tactics and misinformation floating around but I'm not going to tempt fate.

Even if there was no virus, I'd still have strict hygiene methods and stay away from sick people.

This can't be correct? Young people die of Covid? Must be fake news or sheeple over reacting.

A young boy lost both parents to Covid-19. His family asks Texas community for help celebrating his 5th birthday

I was bed ridden for almost a month.
Unable to eat or sleep and keep fluids down.
I even got uncontrollable and mean hiccups that wouldn’t go away for a long time.

Even still to this day I get the hiccups pretty bad.
It’s like a side effect from the illness?
I was never given a clear diagnosis.
