JUST prehaps there is evidence "alittle black book" whos keeping it. If it is the in club records -well that opens the club up for a fair bit of grief. Maybe thats why a club would suggest voluntary suspension. I say "players deny everything claim you followed the clubs paid specialist advice and SUE them.

I'm not a Cronulla fan, but they have been put in a position where they are firstly the most high risk club of folding despite a development approval, they can't buy a sponsor, this has been an issue for a number of years now with on,y short term sponsor stints.

The Australian government need to pin this on someone as they are under extreme pressure for coming out with such an accusation and nothing to back it....
All clubs MUST be named immediately and players, this is only dragging out and putting our great game into shame...

The big issue surrounds the use of pep's. Problem is if they are taking them in 2011, then shortly after they'll be clear.

Bottom line: ASADA have no proof apart from either a) a player dropping themselves in; OR b) someone blowing a whistle.

I need to be a little careful here thus will be deliberately vague, but look at the movements of not only players, but staff from club to club.

I'm not saying this is DEFINITELY the case, but ASADA aren't going off half cocked imho.

That's the thing, There is a whistle blower in cronulla former conditioning coach who is now at parramatta with Ricky Stuart.. For the sharks to offer players these incentives they have given themselves up and finding the best way out of it without getting sued broke

Flanagan stood down

COACH Shane Flanagan has been stood down as coach of the Cronulla Sharks as the drug scandal widens.

Flanagan phoned The Daily Telegraph to reveal he was no longer in charge of the team.

The Cronulla board has also sacked football general manager Darren Mooney and head trainer Mark Noakes.

“I’m shattered,” Flanagan said.

if i was one of the sharks players involved i would take the 6 month ban straight up and the extra year on my contract plus any rep payments

im a doggies fan and a fan of rugby league, id hate for all this crap to be happening at our club, and hope we are not ever called into it, and do actually hope they can tidy all this up with the minimun disruption and stigma of a drugs scandle ruining what is a great game. while we are all true to our club and all say we do hate other clubs, it would be a shame if the sharks were to fold due to this
