THE AUSTRALIAN STAR OF THE XIII, BEN BARBA TO RCT FOR THIS END OF SEASON!
The Australian star of Rugby to XIII Ben Barba committed with the Rugby Club Toulonnais for this end of season.

It operates at the rear post but can also cover the center, half-opening and half-melee positions.

Does this mean 2017? Hope so.

edit: apparently only for 3 months. That is a bit disappointing.

So he gets to piss off on a well paid holiday in the south of France whilst 'suspended' from the NRL then comes back a week before his suspension ends and signs a 'reduced' contract with the premiers after being caught using coke twice on the same day both years.

We really do support an inferior code that is an absolute walkover.

Another serial wanker is rewarded. Engineered to ensure that his fitness will be pretty much spot on when he makes his 'triumphant' return for the Sharks. The NRL is a soft touch and it has once again proven that it has absolutely no idea. Others have faced two year bans for cocaine use in the sport of Rugby Union, case in point Wendell Sailor, showing they have the balls to punish someone for it. From memory he did not get a second chance, his first offence was enough to have him banished. Barba has had TWO goes at it thanks to the marvellous 'three strikes ' policy of the NRL. Oh glory, another redemption story.

French rugby giants Toulon have announced that banned NRL premiership-winning fullback Ben Barba will switch codes and play for them for the rest of the Top 14 season.

'Ben Barba will arrive in Toulon next week,' read a statement on Toulon's website.

Two weeks ago, Cronulla re-signed Barba only two months after his contract was terminated by the Sharks following a positive test to cocaine.

The 27-year-old was hit with a 12-match ban in November as a result of the second positive sample he returned under the NRL's illicit drug policy.

Barba signed a one-year contract for the 2017 season but the deal is yet to be ratified by the NRL.

If he's cleared to return, Barba would be available for the Sharks in mid-May.

Toulon's last regular-season match is against Pau on May 6, but they'll be well backed to make a run deep into the finals which culminate with the Top 14 decider on June 4.

Barba will join fellow Australians Matt Giteau, Drew Mitchell, James O'Connor and Liam Gill at Toulon.

Three-time European Cup champions Toulon sit fifth on the Top 14 table and last weekend's 23-20 home defeat to La Rochelle reportedly left club president Mourad Boudjellal fuming.

They have nine regular-season matches remaining as well as having already qualified for the quarter-finals of the European Champions Cup.

Toulon expect Barba to vie for the fullback jersey but added that he can cover across nearly every other backline position.

Barba helped Cronulla win their first NRL title last year before being suspended after testing positive for cocaine.

He spent time at a rehabilitation clinic in Thailand.

Don't worry he will return and the NRL fraternity will blow loads of jizz after he plays one good game and "Has turned his life around".

Maybe some nice French rugby forward will rake his sprigs down his back a few times, since he's so fond of 'lines'

The difference between 'internal' testing as opposed to 'regulator' testing...
Its beyond a fucking joke what 'the game' has done to keep that shitcunt in the comp...
The whole "the game has a responsibility' to these rehabilitate ***** is a farce... When do these privileged, shit don't stink fuckers have to take accountability for their actions?...

I thought coke was banned worldwide for league players...

Either way, whilst it sounds bad one could only hope karma delivers itself by way of a compound leg fracture and a season out of the game. Drug cheat deserves it as he'll never learn.

Renni matua was banned for 2 year for taking cleanbuterol (helps with weight loss) and this peace of shit gets a slap on the wrist?

Its because Barba was caught by an in house NRL drug test which have much lighter penalties while Reni was caught by ASADA who automatically suspend anyone who tests positive for 2 years.
