We could do the same for very team, argue about the value the old drunk has put on each player, but in the end it's his valuation (and Read's) and we are all biased in our own way. If they have applied the same measurement to each player then it is what it is, nothing more than a headline grabbing newspaper article. It's what happens afterwards that's important and we all know that the NRL is afraid of Politis and his team of lawyers.

True but don't know if you remember when Bennett was coaching the Broncs and the almost had an SOO side. Players went there for unders.

They went for the chance to play finals, to play for Bennett and cause housing was way cheaper.

Now Robbo isn't the same class but he gives chuck outs like Lodge a lifeline. Same with Friend, Hutch who was in SL etc.

Dom young will go because staying in Newcastle gets him nothing. But unfairly they might move Toups on or let Suallii go find his $10m.

But one things for sure and that's that the system atm is busted.

As much as I hate the roosters as well.....let's not forget that Young and Leniu (if true) are both for 2024 and then they will let Toupu go (pays for Young) and JWH goes (will pay for Leniu). It is still questionable about their cap......but many people get mislead by what they think a player is worth and what in fact they are actually being paid (none of us really know).....

It really pisses me off that whenever they retire a player because all their players are high value they just rape one of the other teams and have an immediate star replacement so they lose nothing. Only the other teams lose. If it were true players go there for less as they Roosters proudly claim then that perfectly demonstrates we need another fairer system than just the salary cap only so why aren't the NRL doing something about it ? If it were us doing it they would change the rules yesterday. If Keary gets a head knock and medically retires suddenly a star 5/8 from one of the clubs will suddenly be asking for an early release to go to the Roosters for less money also (could be Burton). We still haven't replaced our last captain Josh Jackson with a like for like replacement

I’d say the roosters also pay accommodation and car costs for these players so that’s a huge chunk , pretty easy to get around too by leasing the unit / vehicle in partners name , by the way if you rent a nice 2 bedroom place in the eastern suburbs you are looking at 1000 plus per week
