As much as i despise manly that call at the end of the game possibly cost them 2 points. It has also highlighted that once the nrl declare that they made the call not much else happens aftewards. For them its naughty reff lets move on, but for the teams effected and their fans that could be the 2 points they fall short of making the 8. I wonder how things would work (in a situation such as the manly game where they had a chance to stay in the game possibly win) if that team then recieved one point to their ladder tally as compensation or maybe something else just to make up for it a bit. The old "oh well its happened now lets move on is pretty pathetic this day and age and doesn't do much to dispell the talk of corruption in nrl that seems rise in allot of conversations these days. Maybee even nrl has to pay a fine to the club?

Nothing will happen... the "poor decisions" are calculated, planned, and ordered by the betting companies to swing a result.

Hence why there is little punishment for refs that cock up either... because if they came down too hard on them someone would blow the whistle on the rort.

Note that we only started having really poor calls in the NRL once betting partners joined the game as sponsors and "corporate partners".

We've known for years now that the refs shit themselves and swallow their whistle at the end of a tight game.

Teams can get away with murder at that stage of the game and they know the refs don't have the balls to make a big call.

Of course there won't be any action taken and these muppets will probably be reffing again next week.

Yup!! Manly should have won that game on more than 1 occasion, and that final call... ridiculous, and someone needs to be held accountable with an investigation into that!! Although it will be swept under the carpet as per usual.

There should be like 3 challenges from the teams captain just like the tennis it would work great

I was thinking they should be able to protest and have 1 challenge per team per game!

Not a bad idea 1 challenge but if you are challenged and proven right then you retain your 1 challenge like cricket

Yup that may work, but a challenge system should be trialed at least, because like the manly game.. if that was in place, and they challenge that last call before FT they win!! It would be there for good reason!!

Nothing will change. If they admitted to changing the outcome gamblers would also need to be compensated and it defeats the purpose of using refs to alter the outcome.

It would make rigging results harder, so they won't implement this sadly, my bro.
